I've ridden the Sky Wheel here in Myrtle Beach but that's only 200 feet high. This sounds like fun but my flight doesn't get in until 7:18pm Friday so I probably won't be at the hotel and checked in until after 8:00.

If you still want to go...I could probably be persuaded to go along for another ride around at some point during the weekend. I like the half hour open bar, but I would like to see the night view also I want to get day and night photos from there.

If you want to take a second ride on the High Roller at night, I'll go.

Is that the coaster on top of the needle? Went on that with keet many years ago in the first car. The herky jerky movements were much scarier than the height.

At the time there was also sort of a vertical Frogger ride up there, too, but the line for that was too long.

The High Roller is new, it was still under construction when I was out there for the Buffett show last year. I think it's either behind or next to the Flamingo.

Looking forward to this weekend and hoping I have the chance to catch up with many of you. I'm undecided about going to Saturday's show though as Sammy Hagar is a big birthday party blowout downtown. I may go to that this Saturday and just catch JB on the 25th.

Anyone else besides Red going to the Boat Drunks on Friday? That's definitely in my plans and I'm guessing you'll see Reefers there as well.

For those staying at the Flamingo or planning to spend a lot of time around there, you may want to check out the Las Vegas Foody Festival which is taking place Wednesday through Sunday. Just be warned that if you want some White Castle sliders, the line is typically 2-3 hours in length. Here's more details on the event.....

As for the High Roller, I know several of you are planning to ride it. Make sure to do it at night. I've riden it several times and I couldn't wait for it to end on the daytime cycle. In the evening, it is awesome (especially if the Bellagio fountains go off right when you are at top). The bar car sounds cool, but honestly I would just save the extra $15-20. Remember, the ride is only 30 minutes long and you want to take pictures during a good portion of it. For ladies planning to ride it on Thursday, I heard this week they are doing ladies night that day....$19.99 including a drink. I don't see it online yet, but this should be an option for you.

3 days until we leave for Vegas, Hoping JB makes a guest appearance at the ZBB Concert Friday Night.

Forgot to mention that there'll be lots of Deadheads in town as well. Phil Lesh is playing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Brooklyn Bowl (located in the Linq development). Parrotheads, Deadheads, and Redheads all in town at the same time......should make for an interesting mix!

3 days until I leave and I haven't even taken my duffel bag out of the bottom of the closet yet. This is the down side of retirement. When I had a job I usually was packed and ready to go 2 weeks before a trip. Now that every day is a vacation, there's no pressure.
