This album (on 8-track) is one of the places where it all began for me as a kid as one of my older brothers used to have it cranked to maximum volume when taking us to school back in the early 70's. In those days Johnny Winter was often mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Jimi Hendrix as far as guitar greats were concerned. Unfortunately, in latter years, he was referred to more as an unsung hero. I had a couple opportunities to see him in concert in recent years but both were thwarted for reasons beyond my control. After that second time, I figured it just wasn't meant to be. R.I.P., Mr. Winter.

I was just telling my granddaughter that I saw him live at a really small venue in
New Cumberland, PA several years ago. There was maybe 100 people there and I was
standing about three feet from him. Awesome talent, awesome show. Sail on, Johnny Winter. :pirate:

Sail on Johnny, one of my all time heros. I saw him live in 1986 in Sydney, what an amazing show. It was the same venue I saw Jimmy fall of the stage years later.
