Saw many shows at Great Woods and Mohegan Sun from 2005-2012. I feel the peak show for us was Great Woods 2008 during the tropical storm, and all the shows we saw after that were a bit "stale" in comparison. I miss the different solo encores of a few years ago, among other things. That being said, I really want to see him once more!

I haven't gone since like 2007 or so. They are the same recycled show every year, and more times than not it almost seems like he mails the show in. 2000, 2001 were great years.

He def. Needs to shake the show up a bit. The masses eat it up though. He needs to just say ***** it and play what he wants. Unfortunately I think there is a disconnect because everytime he is interviewed he brings up the fact that he would get killed if he didn't play the big 10. Which I don't think is the case at all. Especially with mville tv... Why would you go to another show when it's free on the web?

I guess you speak from experience. It's just that when I saw this the other day, I figured it didn't bode well for the future of Buffett.
Disagree with the post about mailing it in. Jimmy and the CRB were energetic, engaged, and tight at GW. And they looked like they were genuinely having a great time. More covers than I would have liked - but then again, Into the Mystic was sublime. Move that in and take an older cover (BEG) out. Felt the same way about All Night Long last year. If half the set is going to be covers then mix it up from year to year.
Maybe they need to do two sorts of tours...smaller, acoustic, oldies, classics for us geezers and then the newer, karaoke, countryish stuff for the newbs who prefer that.
Just so happy Jimmy is still coming around, even if (when) the future frequency and venue sizes shrink. And so glad to be in the company of BNers here on the board or at whatever shows come our way.

Making a long story short, my first avatar here was wearing a cheeseburger hat at a Margaritaville cafe store, though I didn't actually buy the hat. Much later, I changed my avatar and everyone asked why no hat, so I photoshopped it onto the new photo. Every BN person I met at concerts wanted to know why I didn't bring the hat and it was because I didn't actually own one. Then, a very generous BN person sent me the exact same one as a gift. It unintentionally became what I was known for to quite a few people here here. Nautical Wheelers seems to have now overtaken that though.
Also, the hat from Margaritaville is exponentially better looking than the crappy one he wore in Hershey.

Of course he doesn't. I seem to remember some quote where he mentioned the Church of Buffett, Orthodox in concert. I believe it was something to the effect of "They think I haven't made anything worth a sh*t since 1976."
It's just that when I saw this the other day, I figured it didn't bode well for the future of Buffett.
