I have a Chromecast and like it a lot. I use it for streaming YouTube and videos on my hard drive to my TV. You can't beat it for $35 or less.
ANYTHING you can open in the Chrome browser on a computer can be sent to your Chromecast. YouTube, Netflix, p*rn, anything. There's a simple add-on that puts a button at the top of the browser, you click it and it sends the window to your TV. That's that.
If you have a Chromecast and you're using a tablet, Android or Apple (or perhaps other), it changes things a bit. Chromecast will require app compatibility to be able to send the video to the Chromecast. YouTube will do that. Speaking specifically of Margaritaville TV, the one concert I watched early on used an unlisted YouTube channel for the live stream, so that definitely would have worked. I have seen things that lead me to believe they don't always use a YouTube stream, if at all anymore. If not, using the Chrome browser on a laptop would still serve the purpose to get the video from your laptop to your TV.
As for audio, it really depends on how far your kitchen is away from your laptop/TV. If it's in the next room, I'd get a bluetooth headphone setup. If it's farther, some other option may be better.
Bose is going to be overkill, especially if you're hard of hearing. Personally I think they're overpriced even if you're not. Whatever they have to offer will be available from another company at an acceptable quality level for less money. Unless you're an audiophile, it's overboard. If you are an audiophile, you're probably not considering Bose. Their day seems to have passed.
Be careful trying to lure those pesky 3rd graders with Popsicles and Cheetos. Gonna be hard to explain that one to the judge.
