If you have $8,437,500 that you would like to invest in nearly 200 acres in southeastern Wisconsin which includes a long established outdoor music venue, then here is the deal for you:

Alpine Valley Music Theater is available for purchase. Live Nation currently has approximately 5.5 years left on a lease on the theater that apparently will have to be honored by the purchaser. With only two concerts held in the venue during 2014, I don't know how wise of an investment it would be. There doesn't seem to be many acts/performers left that could fill the place, particularly at today's ticket prices. We know that Jimmy is one of the few performers who can sell it out or come close to it. This will be interesting to follow particularly if/when Jimmy announces next year's tour. Did JB play his final Alpine show or did he possibly play the last show EVER at Alpine?

Hmmmm Turn it into a private club. Pay owner handsome fee for rights to buy concert tickets every year. Over charge on warm stale beer........ If I only had the money or desire to buy land in wisconsin.

There were fewer shows there this year partially because there were fewer big acts on tour...at least the type of acts that Alpine draws. The number of shows have been limited over the last decade because of restrictions put on by the county, but they still typically get about 5 shows a year. This year, pickins were thin.

Kenny Chesney, Sprinsteen, Lady Gaga, Iron Maiden, Ozzy.

There are a lot of acts that still draw big crowds. I don’t what the problem is, but if the performances at the place are rare these days, I don’t want it.

*Iron Maiden only toured in Europe this year.
*Ozzy only had one stop in the US, and that was a venue much smaller than Alpine.
*Springsteen ended his tour back in May, Alpine is an outdoor, summer only venue.
*Lady Gaga...urban acts never play Alpine. The core of her fan base are in the city, so she played Summerfest. Her crowd won't travel, even out to Alpine Valley.
*Chesney only played one show this year, at Flora-Bama.

My point is that there weren't big name acts out on tour this year, so they didn't draw the usual number of acts.

Phish also plays Alpine Valley almost every year. They draw a huge crowd for sure.
