Thank you for all the efforts on capturing/ recording the margaritaville tv broadcasts.
Not complaining, was anyone else able to capture the Hershey broadcast? The buffering on this is pretty frequent. Again, not complaining, just want a cleaner recording of a show I was at.

From what I have seen so far, it depends on the app you use to play them. The smaller the file, the better for viewing so I can watch it on my apple with no buffering issues.

I have not verified, but others have reported successful playback with the free VLC Player, available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Hit the link below to download:

Yup, that is what works for me. The file was right around 2GB for the GWs show and I didn't have an issue. When I converted it and it ended up being 8GB for Windows player, that is when I had the issue.

Thanks for the helpful hints. I put it on a flash drive and was watching on my tv. No problems watching the TX shows that way so I decided to make the request. I have VLC on my iMac and will check it out.
Very grateful for all the work you guys do to preserve and share the audio and video steams!

If you the right codecs installed you do not need to convert the file formats of the Margaritaville TV video they will play just fine in Windows Media Player

I edited the Jimmy Buffett / Zac Brown interview and performance segments into a single video. I also replaced the original mono audio of the songs with the RM audio from the shows. The performances are from a couple different Atlanta shows (which I was lucky enough to see) and include:

Knee Deep (2012)
Where The Boat Leaves From (2010)
Pirate Looks At Forty (2012)
Margaritaville (2010)

Be sure to listen for Zac's rewrite of Magaritaville!

Any help would be appreciated...

I have a brand new MacBook Air and an Apple TV at home. How can I get a better stream for Mville TV?
I'm pretty sure my internet connection is solid. Is that on their end or my problem?

Thanks in advance

You can check your internet connection download / upload speeds at Speedtest.net by Ookla. This will also check your pings (lower numbers are better).

If you are using a wireless setup, check around your wireless modem or router, whichever applies, for interference. Get a portable radio and tune it to a "blank" area on the AM band, perhaps at the very lowest point in the dial. Then pass the radio around the modem or router. If you hear extreme static during this process, there is something close that is causing possible interference. It may be CFL lighting, cordless phone base, microwave, etc. If you hear little or no static, the position of the modem or router should be good. If there is static, try to move the offending device to a different location or change the location of the modem or router.

If both your modem and router are wireless, make sure only one device is broadcasting the wi-fi signal. If they are both enabled, they will try to talk over each other, which can affect your connection. Disable the wi-fi on the device that you are not using for wi-fi, most likely the modem.

When you connect to Marg TV, be sure to select the highest available broadcast quality, usually 720p. Just click on the gear icon at the lower right of the video window and use the Quality dropdown to select.

Otherwise, the broadcast quality of Marg TV is dependent on their upload link, whether it is internet or satellite. I believe the last several shows have been streamed via satellite, so that helps with their bandwidth issues. Even with satellite, you can still see bits of pixelation associated with reception problems.

EDIT: Added wi-fi interference info...

I was able to do a Fraps capture of the show. It is available at this Mega link:

Hershey PA 08.30.2014 (mp4/01:43:46/2.26GB)

This is only the show. It does not include the JB/ZBB Atlanta performances (posted above) or the Bing & Bong show. The first 40 seconds do not contain audio during the opening slideshow sequence.
