I'm officially in. Flying into Logan early Friday afternoon and hitting the town that night.

I'm planning on staying on the south side of Boston and using the train/hotel shuttle to commute Friday.

Can I take a train to the show and back? I'm thinking it would be much easier to rent a car for Saturday. The hotel I'm looking at has a rental desk.

Taking the commuter rail train from Boston to Mansfield is an option. It's just not a great option. The train station in Mansfield is about 15 min. away from Great Woods by car so you'd have to take a cab from there. The commuter rail doesn't run that late at night which is another issue. My guess is the last train back to Boston would leave Mansfield in the 10-10:30pm range so you'd have to leave the show early, prob. half way through to assue you can get a cab and get the the station in time. If renting a car is an option that is a better plan.

Hoping for time to pass quickly while not wishing away the summer is tough. I do enjoy reading posts for the other tailgates just to see how Great Woods compares. From what I've read, Great Woods is one of the better parties.

So, who is staying at the Red Roof? We'll be checking in that morning and then heading to the lots. Just wondering if there is a post tailgate at the hotel after the concert...you know, to extend Buffett day as much as possible.
