JLL has notoriously bad traffic problems. The highway heading to the venue can be bad, but the traffic between the highway and the venue can be equally terribly, if not worse. For sold out shows I have on MULTIPLE occasions spent over an hour, and once nearly two hours to get from the highway exit to a parking space. So, I don't think it is as much about there being tight security as I think it is their way of saying if you plan on showing up at showtime, you may end up very disappointed.WVParrothead wrote:They make a special note to get in line 60-90 minutes before show starts so people can get in on time. Sounds like security will be at a max.
Let's just keep our fins crossed that the traffic tie up we help create will cause them to open a little early. A few years back we sat in the Camden Cluster and we've sat in the Lube Cluster too but you know what, we eventually get in, have had time to hang out and still make it inside before any live music starts. Last year a few of us even got to see JB's caravan come in to the venue and Jimmy was waving out the window to usFunkHouse9 wrote:JLL has notoriously bad traffic problems. We knew it was Jimmy waving because of the awesomeness of the sexy arm hair pattern.Saltx3 wrote:Last year a few of us even got to see JB's caravan come in to the venue and Jimmy was waving out the window to us

Well said & I couldn't agree more! Said same thing about GW vs JLL to a friend the other day. I've said before (& I truly believe) it has gotten a lol better each year since they lifted the ban. That being said, the 'no canopy but umbrellas are ok' of last year and potential late p lot opening of this year is REALLY starting to make me question my future return. The reasoning that's it's the closest venue to me that he plays is starting to wear thin.urlcenter wrote:A 4:00 parking lot time on a Saturday is a little ridiculous I could see it if the show was a on Tuesday or Thursday but keeping the Jimmy's parrothead's waiting until just 4 hours before show time is a bit much. Given the forecast is for 85 degrees in Manassas on Saturday the idea of having people waiting in heat like that in cars is just not right.
If Frisco Texas can allow 2 days of tailgating for Jimmy and Greatwoods can open their lots at Noon for a Saturday shows, JLL can and should do better.
It's all what we make of it -- we will be surrounded by friends from near and far. It will all work out !!! Even if Bill shows up (as in Tropical Storm Bill)prthead99 wrote:First time at this venue weddings are forcing us to miss our annual great woods trip. Wanted to see Jimmy before the Jones beach show so this was the only option. This 4 pm parking lot opening is ridiculous then have to line up 90 min before might as well not even tailgate. Well guess we will be in the Lowe's lot to try and get in earlier....
