Who here remembers, from back in the "days of vinyl",
that Jimmy included an insert into the album HOT WATER (I think it was Hot Water),
that was an entry form that could be mailed back to Key West HQ for a chance to win
"a private island beach concert from Jimmy Buffett"?

If it is along those lines, perhaps a private Windstar Cruise type of contest.
Perhaps with Jimmy at the helm?

The contest insert may have been in the album "Last Mango In Paris". Who knows?
The vinyl decades are a bit of a blur to me now.

My favorite guesses in order of what I'd like.

1. Jimmy bought ballast key and is turning it into a real Margaritaville ala coconut Pete in club dread!

2. Concert on the beach at fort Jefferson in the dry Tortuga's

3. My original guess free concert in Mallory square from the deck of a cruise ship. Seems unlikely now

4. A concert cruise on the new cruise line. This would be a huge disappointment because cruises are for the old ,kids and boring of the world.

Right, like that whole build-up about Tahiti. Then he shows up at a tiny venue with no notice

I just realized what my problem with this whole thing is. They (i.e. the people at M'Ville who are putting all of this out) are really taping into my die-hard feelings, and I think they are doing it on purpose. The hints are using music that I think only a real parrothead (as opposed to a party-head) would recognize and the old videos are only something that die-hard people like us are even going to care about. Heck the slogan says it all. There is no doubt in my mind that the advertising behind this is geared towards people who own every album.

If this ends up being just another business venture to capitalize on the mass of people who go to concerts to hear the yellow album I shall be disappointed. And this is coming from someone who has no problems with the M'Ville empire. I believe JB is entitled to make as much money as possible. Heck, put a M'ville Café on every street corner. It won't bother me.

Just don't advertise as something really for me if you know good what you are promoting is for a bunch tourists who visit Margaritaville every once "trying to clam lost years into five or six days."

That kind of sums up my feelings about it. I'm curious but hardly waiting with baited breath because I'm thinking it's going to either be something completely lame or something that most of us will be unable to actually DO.

Let's recap:

The written parting messages on the videos:

Back to the island...

You can do some cruising too...

Dreams float...

We'll solve the mystery...

You'll find me back at it again...

~~~~~~~
Something Jimmy's never done before.
~~~~~~~

But what makes it "really for us"???

Is it merely something as unspectacular as just releasing the entire tour schedule at once?

But he has actually done that before - and it did NOT end well :D
Maybe he's going to single ticket prices a la Garth Brooks.

Didn't he release the entire schedule at once a few years ago and then cancel some of the announced shows?

Maybe he's going to do some shows without the crappy cover songs. :lol:

That would be spectacular though! Think we all wait & wait for them to come little by little. I'll take the tour announcement over a cruise or clothing merch line, any day!

If it were possible to care less than not at all, that's how little I would care about a cruise. No matter who was going to be on it. Unless I was in the middle of a Jessica Alba/Jennifer Lawrence sandwich. :lol: :o

He's going to let us all know that he was one of Katy Perry's beach balls yesterday:
