Sign the Buffett Presidential Medal of Freedom Petition

Post by AintMarvinGardens »

I know it's a longshot, but why not try. The petition is up on whitehouse.gov, but can only be reached by this link: http://wh.gov/ibNbO until we get 150 signatures. At that point it goes on the big board, where if it gets 100,000 signatures, it gets reviewed by the White House. I think it may be fun to at least try. If you think it's an interesting idea, spread the word. The Presidential Medal of Freedom recognizes those individuals who have made "an especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors". This is in no way to be confused with the Medal of Honor. Past musician winners have included: Stevie Wonder, Frank Sinatra, BB King and Bob Dylan.

The biggest hurdle is that first 150. After that people just casually visiting the white house petition site can come across it as opposed to having to click a link. I guess that's the best we can hope for and maybe that trendy term "viral" will occur (viral meaning popular on social media, not something you caught sophomore year of college....)

Done!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"
