Good morning, it's another crappy day aloong the Grand Strand. It's rained every day this week.

Good morning pholks! That is a cute pic. I thought about taking my 6 year old daughter to the Kansas City show (I decided to go), but she's got issues with loud noise. We'll probably do like we did last summer, pick a show to watch on Margaritaville tv, drag the big screen out to the back patio and make a party out of it. She's still talking about the jello shots (hers were non-alcoholic, of course) from last summer.

The rain finally stopped a couple of hours ago and the sun's trying to come out. Maybe I'll take a ride to the beach or one of the state parks. I haven't been to either place for almost 2 weeks.

It has turned into a beautiful day here in Southcentral PA....why, oh, why, am I sitting at a desk inside a gub-a-ment building ????

What happened?

I live 1/4 mile west of Hwy 17 Bypass, the main north/south road in this part of Myrtle Beach. Traffic was stopped dead in both directions so I took a shortcut to get around it and go to the next traffic light to the north. The cross street where I have to turn to get to the intersection by the light was blocked by the fire department and their was a fire truck in the gas station across the street. I kept going north through a mall parking lot and I could see that north of the gas station 17 was closed in both directions. I turned around and came back home. The total trip was about 2 miles and it took more than 1/2 hour.

edit: I just checked one of the local TV station's website. It says there was a hit and run accident with no injuries at the intersection and a traffic signal was struck. The road is closed while they replace the traffic signal.

Girlfriends coming in May for a visit. Have all sorts of stuff in store in Maine and Boston. Can't wait!
