I don't have china, crystal or silver, but then I've never been married. Although if I was married, I would be gift enough.springparrot wrote:Morning BN![]()
Remember when everyone registered for china, crystal and silver for wedding gifts?
I wonder how many times those items are used? We have used ours a very few times....and never since we moved 14 years ago.
We registered for china and we used it many times although since we moved 2 yrs ago I don't think we've dragged it out oncespringparrot wrote:Morning BN![]()

I used to get it out for holidays, but since it is just the 3 of us, it seems silly to get it out.Saltx3 wrote:We registered for china and we used it many times although since we moved 2 yrs ago I don't think we've dragged it out oncespringparrot wrote:Morning BN![]()

I know a lot of people that got Pfaltzgraff (and I sold it at one time), but it wasn't a favorite of mine.alphabits wrote:We do not have china .... or silver .... or crystal.
However, my wife DOES have about 10 gazillion dollars worth of Pfaltzgraff. Because you really do need separate sets of dishes for each season, holiday, etc. Personally, I don't really care about the plate ..... I just care about what's on it.
My theory about patterns is ..... if I can see the pattern, there isn't enough food on the plate!springparrot wrote:I know a lot of people that got Pfaltzgraff (and I sold it at one time), but it wasn't a favorite of mine.alphabits wrote:We do not have china .... or silver .... or crystal.

We have solid white dishes for every day. I had a teacher in college that said before you pick out a pattern, think about a serving of BEETS on it. If your dishes didn't look good with beets, it wasn't a good pattern. LOL

I don't eat beets and if anyone comes to my place to eat, they're going to eat what I serve. Which will only be things I eat. So why would I care what my plates look like with beets on them? Because there will never be beets on them. Or seafood. Or most vegetables. Or mashed potatoes.springparrot wrote:I know a lot of people that got Pfaltzgraff (and I sold it at one time), but it wasn't a favorite of mine.alphabits wrote:We do not have china .... or silver .... or crystal.

You still got it, HOG.LIPH wrote:I just got back from having my car serviced. I've been to the local Toyota dealer for all the service I've had done on the car since I moved down here. Today was the first time the service employee who wrote up the order gave me a business card. She was a rather attractive blonde and she told me to call her if I needed anything. I think she meant for the car.![]()
