Good morning. It's another beautiful day but I have to do laundry, then I have an appointment to bring my car in for service so I can't do anything today.

Morning BN 8)

Remember when everyone registered for china, crystal and silver for wedding gifts?
I wonder how many times those items are used? We have used ours a very few times....and never since we moved 14 years ago.

I don't have china, crystal or silver, but then I've never been married. Although if I was married, I would be gift enough. running and hiding now

I used to get it out for holidays, but since it is just the 3 of us, it seems silly to get it out.
Maybe the next generation will enjoy it....or sell it.

We do not have china .... or silver .... or crystal.

However, my wife DOES have about 10 gazillion dollars worth of Pfaltzgraff. Because you really do need separate sets of dishes for each season, holiday, etc. Personally, I don't really care about the plate ..... I just care about what's on it.

I know a lot of people that got Pfaltzgraff (and I sold it at one time), but it wasn't a favorite of mine.
We have solid white dishes for every day. I had a teacher in college that said before you pick out a pattern, think about a serving of BEETS on it. If your dishes didn't look good with beets, it wasn't a good pattern. LOL

My theory about patterns is ..... if I can see the pattern, there isn't enough food on the plate!

Not only do we rotate the dishes that are used for meals, we also rotate the ones on the display shelves. (and by "we", I don't mean "me")

Plus, there's a separate shelf high on the wall along one side on the kitchen with an ever changing array of dishes. Apparently right now it's chicken season.

I don't eat beets and if anyone comes to my place to eat, they're going to eat what I serve. Which will only be things I eat. So why would I care what my plates look like with beets on them? Because there will never be beets on them. Or seafood. Or most vegetables. Or mashed potatoes.

Wow,Bits! That's a coup load of chicken platters.A friend decorated her kitchen in rooster motif. Some designs bordered on ugly/weird/Tiki style birds,so I made her an incredibly distorted wall hanger as a joke. She loved it.

I just got back from having my car serviced. I've been to the local Toyota dealer for all the service I've had done on the car since I moved down here. Today was the first time the service employee who wrote up the order gave me a business card. She was a rather attractive blonde and she told me to call her if I needed anything. I think she meant for the car.
