Hollywood Margaritaville

First!
The wife and I visited the new margaritaville. In Hollywood FL today
This was the first time we've been to Hollywood beach since construction began, so it was all new to us. I have to say, driving up and seeing the front of the building from the street, it really wasn't that appealing of a look, very monolithic looking, could have been a Marriot or a Hilton, nothing out of the ordinary.
The area is still very much a consruction site. We found a sign for public parking in a garage and were able to park there. The elevators were not accessible so we walked down 4 flights of stairs and exited out to the street on the north with of the hotel. We walked around the back side of the hotel ( beachside) and found an open bar. had a beer, got the lay of the land and went in to the pool area.
What the building is lacking in looks is more than made up for in the grounds around the hotel, very tropical, beautiful pools, a pool that you can surf in like they have on cruise ships, and of course more bars. Nice today was that it was almost empty...no crowds.
From there we went into the Margaritaville cafe. Looks nice, has some boat tables, a small hemisphere dancer hanging from the ceiling, but.....no volcano
. Food was great, service great ,so all in all a pleasant experience.
From there we went over to landshark landing, my favorite stop, a bar on a deck above the pools, and facing the ocean. Very very nice.
After that we went inside, checked out the store, the usual stuff, didn't seem to have a lot of stock yet.
The real treat was lobby...finally something spectacular, chandeliers made from margarita glasses, a giant flip flop and pop top statue, and couches that hang from the ceiling like porch swings....very nice and the decore was near perfect.
Last of all the employees, all helpful, friendly, and all seemed to enjoy working there.
All in all in was a great, fun day. Looking forward to going back when it is up to full speed, also looking forward to visiting the bar across the street, on the intracoastal side, called Five a clock somewhere...looks interesting.
Just remember if you're going soon, still a lot of construction going on, a lot of uneven side walks outside...I found that out the hard way
