Posted by Barry -- 1 hour ago -- 9:30 a.m. EST

Got my chest tubes out, won the pole going around the track this morning, and the nasal cannula is the only thing tethering me and it should come out real soon. I am going for the position of poster boy for the cardiac unit.!!!!!!!!!!

From Barry's sister on Saturday, around 7pm EST:

After 10 long days, my brother was released from the hospital today. He's tired and has a long road ahead of him. Glad we're inside where it is cool. The pic below was the temp my car showed outside a few hours ago. Again thanks for your thoughts and prayers

Thank you all for the support, cards and crazy gifts. I am in a strange transition of not being woken every 4 hours but having a hard time sleeping without being restless and only having one position to sleep in. Almost all the cards had a canary yellow envelope, was this planned? The first card was delivered by a elderly volunteer, she read it to me as I could not open it. She chose to omit some added words with an arrow around a picture inside the card as it related to the location of the Bat-Pole. Oh My, Herr Geist. My nurse was excited to see what was in my package that was delivered, (she had already seen my package which is still suffering withdrawal from having a catheter) toy figures, a yo-yo, cards, finger cards, tattoos and other things, thanks Lime. She looked perplexed and asked what kind of friends I have? That was easy, AWESOME! I have AWESOME friends that I began making almost 12 years ago on this site. She agreed I had friends that obviously knew me well Love to you all!

It is looking and feeling a bit tarnished. Perhaps some lubrication and some polishing? [smilie=giggle.gif]
