Sr Citizen Sunday @ the MSC

Post by Saltx3 »

Good Morning BN. I'm thinking a few of our BNers are still sleeping off the massive Great Woods celebration from the past 2 days :D

Meanwhile, back at the MSC......it's

NATIONAL SENIOR CITIZENS DAY
Each year on August 21, there are various events and activities held across the United States in recognition of National Senior Citizens Day. This day was created as a day to support, honor and show appreciation to our seniors and to recognize their achievements. Their valuable contributions to our communities create better places to live.

For all they have achieved throughout life and for all they continue to accomplish, we owe older citizens our thanks and a heartfelt salute. We can best demonstrate our gratitude and esteem by making sure that our communities are good places in which to mature and grow older — places in which older people can participate to the fullest and can find the encouragement, acceptance, assistance, and services they need to continue to lead lives of independence and dignity. ~ President Ronald Reagan – August 19, 1988 Proclamation 5847

First time I got one, I was 44.

Good morning Linda and BN.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Good morning, Bill and Linda!

I still haven't been enticed enough by the AARP trinkets to sign up. I am not sure it is such a great deal, to be honest.

However, I may just push my luck today and see what kinds of discounts I can get :)

Today is our last day of summer vacation and the kids want to do something memorable. I told them to clean their rooms. Didn't go over as I had hoped. Guess I will take them to see "Suicide Squad" so they are in the know for the first day back to school tomorrow.

Happy Bloody Mary Sunday to our BN pals clearing from Greatwoods last night!
well, ummmmmmm, yah, I guess I better come up with something witty to put in this spot since everyone is reading it.......

Good morning. Tonight is Pink In The Park Night at the Pelicans game. I'm anxious to see what the pink jerseys they're wearing in the game look like, I hope they're pinker than last year's.

They're going to auction them off to raise money for the Mary Kay Foundation and whatever they look like, I plan on getting another one. I have a wallet full of credit cards and I'm not afraid to use them. My first choice will be #20. That's the Pelicans' center fielder and when I played softball I played center field. It was also my number when I played high school football. My second choice is #24, the Pelicans' left fielder. That was Willie Mays' number and he was my favorite baseball player when I was a kid. If I get outbid on both of those, I'll just look for the best player I can find whose jersey has no bids.

Kids down here went back to school last week. I hope the schools are air conditioned, it was in the 90s all week and the heat index was over 100 a couple of times.

It's gonna be a hot one at the ballpark. It's 97 degrees and the heat index is over 100. Game time is 6:00, it won't cool off much by then.
