Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band played many a concert there and two concerts on August 16 and 17, 1985 were the basis for his video Live By The Bay
Miami Vice star Don Johnson did the emcee honors.

Live By The Bay was directed by Jack Cole, produced by Tammara Wells, and recorded and mixed by Elliot Scheiner. It was released on VHS and LaserDisc. As of 2015, the video is out of print and has not been released on DVD. It is occasionally shown on television by VH1 Classic as part of its Classic In Concert series.

As of now, it looks like fundraising by IndieGoGo is in the homestretch, with about 80% of their targeted $100,000 raised so far. Scroll down and you'll see the various perks IndieGoGo is offering:

Let's help push the fund-raising over the top and restore this entertainment venue. Thanks.
