Good Morning Folks. We have a few Beers that are or may be in the path of Matthew. Let's keep them in our thoughts today.

Good morning.

Evacuations for Zone A, which is about 2 miles, maybe a little more, east of me so no problems yet.

Morning Linda, Lime, Larry & BN.

Keeping an eye on Matthew while I continue to dose up on Dayquil :-?
The way it looks right now, we're only in for some rain & wind but we had a lot of rain last week. The ground hasn't dried out from that so any wind will probably be an issue. God bless a generator!

Sorry. Not sorry. About those NY Mets.
I would have liked to have had the opportunity
to see the Mets vs Daniel Murphy's Nationals in the playoffs.

Good morning. About 50 outside. Spent the morning sitting in the sun in my driveway. Reading the paper, drinking coffee,
eating doughnuts, and smoking cigarillos. Life is good. :pirate:

Good evening ladies and gentlemen.

Since Hurricane Matthew has caused the George Thorogood show at House of Blues tomorrow night to be cancelled, I called TicketMaster to find out about a getting a refund. They said I would get a full refund to my credit card, including service charges, "in a few days." I looked at the House of Blues website and it says the tickets were $55. According to the ticket I got in the mail, mine was $24. Maybe TM will screw things up and give me too much money back.

I spoke to some of my neighbors this afternoon and they all feel the same way I do. Unless there's a mandatory evacuation order, they're all staying. Right now only Zone A has been told to evacuate. We're in Zone C.

Probably most people would stay unless mandatory, and even then some would still stay.

Is this the worst storm since you moved down there?

We've had a lot of heavy rainstorms but no hurricanes. Last October we had so much rain most of the state was flooded but we were pretty lucky in this part of Myrtle Beach, very little flooding and none at all where I live. We had a lot of rain from Hermine a few weeks ago but we didn't get high winds. Matthew isn't supposed to get to the Carolinas until sometime tomorrow, most likely late afternoon/early evening. We're already under a tropical storm warning, they skipped right over a tropical storm watch, and it's in effect until 5:00pm Sunday. This is the first time there have been any mandatory evacuation orders. The Governor had a news conference this afternoon and she said about 175,000 people have evacuated so far and "that isn't enough." Most of the evacuations were south of here in Charleston and Beaufort, they started yesterday. Charleston is about 2 hours away and Beaufort is south of Charleston.

Wow, that's a slow storm. :o Hopefully it won't be extreme all that time and you can at least get out.

Ahoy! I floated on a lake and the river today. I saw a couple that I know taking a kayak float. They are world travelers, but enjoy time on our local waters.
