What gets me is that the guy says he's been a fan for 40 years, has seen Jimmy numerous times, and has always had a great time. Now, after the Wrigley show, which was an extra special scene and a great show, he feels compelled to finally join BuffettNews just to complain about the cost of a bottle of water? Shrug.

Maybe you (first time poster) should stay home and watch on Mville TV and buy 48 bottles of water for $6...

Much cleaner bathrooms I'm sure. And, no line!

"Water in unopened plastic bottles is allowed to be brought into the ballpark" Didn't see any mention that the policy could be changed for other events. So we took 2 bottles in one bag, 2 in another. Two were taken away, the other 2 got in. So much for "security."
Bottled water is allowed for all Cubs games but items being allowed in for concerts is handled differently

The following comes from the Wrigley Field web site regarding concerts:

"Please note whether certain items such as umbrellas are permitted into Wrigley Field during a concert is at the discretion of the artist."

I think what got him upset was he could not bring water in for Jimmy's show on Saturday but could for James Taylor's Wrigley concert on Monday night

So what? You have to factor that stuff in.

Also, ten you create a post titled "Is this how you show appreciation to your fans?" Like Jimmy is doing a disservice or something. If after 40 years of investing in this lifestyle a $6 bottle of water is your tipping point...change the channel.
Someday I will.

I'm surprised and venue with let outside beverages or food in , just because the money they lose , you figure 30,000 people ( I know not everyone will buy one , hypothetically speaking) at 6.00 that's 180,000.00 profit probably is around 160,000.00 just on water. If I was a venue owner , and I'm there to make money and employee people. I think I wouldn't want outside beverages or foods coming in. I work at a 1750 person theater and we charge 2.00 for water , 3500.00 helps go towards payroll and expenses. Which also helps bring in other shows. I know for a band like Earth wind and Fire there cost is about 100,000 to bring in. You have to double that for all the other expenses that go along with it. You would have to charge an average of 115.00 to break even. Not many people would be buying tickets , so you need the concessions for added revenue. So I get it's just water , but it goes deeper then that.

We were at the STL show just a couple weeks ago. It was HOT.

At the gate, bottles weren't allowed, but they actually gave out plastic cups and you could pour your bottle of water in the cup and take it in.

I get the bottle thing.... safety... almost any big event you go to, even if they do serve bottles, they keep the cap.

I thought our treatment at STL was pretty considerate. :D

Well to be fair, most people at Wrigley were opting for the $10 water that said "Bud Light" on the side and not the $6 Aquafina.

They told me it is in JB's rider. No bottles. Not Wrigley, but Jimmy said no bottles. He is not the only one that does this.

Different artist, different riders.

Plus, if you bought water at WF for the JB concert, they poured it into cups.

If you can't afford a $6 bottle of water maybe a concert is not for you. This isn't UNICEF you know

Fenway Park allows fans to bring in unopened bottled water and any prepared food you purchased from a street vendor into the park for Red Sox games. I don't know if the policy is different for non-baseball events

Can you pack your own food , and bring it in a small cooler? Or just purchased outside. I think the baseball crowd is a bit different to a concert crowd. Maybe that's the reasoning. I know where I work , we don't allow water bottles in , because one of our biggest donors is a water company , they frown upon seeing different labels. So we make it policy NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR BEVERAGES.

No coolers and no prepacked food. But if you buy a sausage, chicken, steak etc sandwich outside from a street vendor you can bring that into the park. The vendor will wrap the foil for you to make it easier. They even advertise that you can bring it inside so the Red Sox and street vendors may have some sort of agreement in place. And unopened water is also allowed.

I know Citi field allows unopened water or soda. My cousin has the weekend package always packs a 7 course meal. They let that in. That's why I was curious. I'm surprised , you would think they would want you to spend money on food inside the Stadium. I get the Fenway thing , they are licensed vendors. I'm sure Fenway gets a kickback of sorts. I'll find out on Nov 18th for the UCONN / BC game.
