Wow what a day this has turned into. I just took my grand daughter to see the Wienermobile.
We got our pictures taken and I won us some prizes by sinking a bean bag in each of the three
holes in the Oscar Mayer cornhole game. I am such a hero to my grand daughter.

Re: Total Eclipse Monday@ the MSC
They lied, we didn't get a total eclipse. Charleston did, but not Georgetown County so no pictures, I didn't want to fry the innards of my camera by pointing it right at the sun. When it got to 90+%, it got noticeably cooler, which was a good thing because it was in the high 80s and the heat index was close to 100. I was expecting it to be darker, it was more like twilight than late night. It got much brighter as soon as the moon began moving away. When you have the eclipse glasses on, unless you're looking at the sun you can't see jack. Traffic wasn't nearly as bad coming home as I thought it would be. Still worse than a normal day but a little quicker than getting there this morning, it only took 40 minutes for the northbound trip.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

We didn't get the full 'eclipse' but I got what I think we're some good pics of it.

Re: Total Eclipse Monday@ the MSC
No pictures at all. I read that unless you put a solar filter on your lens, which I don't have, pointing the camera at the sun is as bad for the camera as looking at the sun without eclipse glasses is for your eyes. If I had my point and shoot with me I might have taken a few but I had my good camera with me and I didn't want to take a chance taking pictures with it.tailgaitingph wrote: ↑August 21, 2017 4:32 pmYou didn't take any pics?LIPH wrote: ↑August 21, 2017 4:09 pm They lied, we didn't get a total eclipse. For some reason, I didn't plan for the eclipse...guess I thought I had more time to get glasses.
Soooooo, I will be on my driveway with a paper plate with a tiny hole in it.

It 'kinda' worked. We had such thick cloud cover that I didn't expect to see anything, but we did have sun peeking though for a short time. The best part was watching our cats. They usually don't care as long as we feed them. LOLlime rickie wrote: ↑August 21, 2017 5:31 pmVery retro, Molly.springparrot wrote: ↑August 21, 2017 11:53 am Morning BNers

But both of them seems to be very affectionate. One of them wanted to sit on my lap.....that has never happened before, so I took advantage of petting her.

Ahoy!
Anne read horror stories about going blind looking at eclipses. We stayed inside. It was too hot to do anything anyway.

If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Enjoying a lovely evening at my tiki bar. Earlier storms cooled our area off some but thunder in the distance makes me think a storm is coming my way now. Holding out as long as I can before going in.
