Total Eclipse Monday@ the MSC

We had 93% here. It was awesome!!! No clouds either. Now I need a drink after cleaning up 43 SPAM posts.

Me, three! Now that I'm home from my sister's house.

It 'kinda' worked. We had such thick cloud cover that I didn't expect to see anything, but we did have sun peeking though for a short time. The best part was watching our cats. They usually don't care as long as we feed them. LOL
But both of them seems to be very affectionate. One of them wanted to sit on my lap.....that has never happened before, so I took advantage of petting her.

My pup is normally very affectionate but seemed a lil more 'need to be right with me' today. Wierd how this stuff affects them.

I don't know if the eclipse had anything to do with this but when I was driving home I saw a group of about 25 vultures circling overhead. I've seen vultures in groups before but it's usually 4 or 5 of them. Although it was very hot and humid today and I was all sweaty so maybe to them I smelled like dead things.

They say the eclipse does strange things to animals. Maybe it was making a difference with the vultures OR maybe they were waiting for you to ripen

Aloha! Very exciting day! Lin, what is Thursday 31?? You are being very cryptic lately!

Heading into school to start setting up my classroom, then home to start cooking the bumper crop of tomatoes. Tonight's dinner -- pasta with raw diced tomatoes in garlic and oil, and some fresh mozzarella to mix in. Sauteed long hot Italian peppers and sausage on the side. Yum.

They lied, we didn't get a total eclipse. Charleston did, but not Georgetown County so no pictures, I didn't want to fry the innards of my camera by pointing it right at the sun. When it got to 90+%, it got noticeably cooler, which was a good thing because it was in the high 80s and the heat index was close to 100. I was expecting it to be darker, it was more like twilight than late night. It got much brighter as soon as the moon began moving away. When you have the eclipse glasses on, unless you're looking at the sun you can't see jack. Traffic wasn't nearly as bad coming home as I thought it would be. Still worse than a normal day but a little quicker than getting there this morning, it only took 40 minutes for the northbound trip.

We didn't get the full 'eclipse' but I got what I think we're some good pics of it.
