Enjoying my Saturday morning coffee and watching the weather channel, Irma's track has moved further west. Hard to imagine the devastation that's coming.

Morning BN. Irma isn't finished with her destruction. Jose can be bad but he's a bit far from land to know what will happen.

We have a nice weekend for two Little Feat shows. Hoping the weather is just as nice in Boston on Thursday and Friday.

Good afternoon. I'm off to a slow start today, the coffee pot isn't empty yet.

It's a beautiful day, high 70s and low humidity, and tomorrow is supposed to be about the same except for some wind gusts up to about 30 mph. Monday should be a different story, the same wind gusts but 100% chance of rain and we might get as much as 4 inches. That's a lot better than what the long range forecast was earlier this week when they were saying a tropical storm was likely and a hurricane possible with 10 or more inches of rain. Now we have to wait and see what Jose is going to do.

I was watching the Weather Channel earlier and they showed Irma going pretty much right over the Keys. It's down to a category 3 but I think that's still 125 mph winds and once it passes Cuba and goes back over open water on its way to Florida it could strengthen back to category 4. Good thoughts to all our friends in Florida who are going to get slammed. It won't be as bad in Georgia and extreme southeastern South Carolina, but they're still going to get hit much worse than I am. Irma blows.

Afternoon y'all. Finished my coffee early so I could go to a large yard sale.
It's a 24 mile stretch of road where people set up in their yards, church/school p lots, etc. I was looking for bar stools for the tiki bar but did not find any. Started out chilly this am but has warmed up nicely so I'm sitting in the sun listening to JD on RM.

My thoughts are with all our phriends that are in the path of Irma, especially KW!

Sorry, Haven't been around... been trying to get a way from Key West.... Now, I hope I have a home to go home to.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Coffee?

In a pot?

You lot wouldn't know good coffee if it jumped up and bit you on the bum.

In a pot? Seriously?

Just to paint a picture, it is early Sunday morning, it is coolish but sunny and the bushfire smoke is yet to roll in. I am freshly showered and sitting checking for news of my friends in the US.

Accompanying me is a double walled coffee glass with a freshly extracted double espresso shot, made with beans I imported from Vanuatu. For a few minutes, life feels pretty good.

There is no watered down, stewed, percolated or filter coffee in this house. Last time I was in the Keys I ended up going behind the counter at one coffee place - they had an espresso machine but needed a little coaching. To Mrs Rabz annoyance, I spent the next hour knocking out proper coffees.

:)

Hey Aero - even those of us in the antipodes are thinking of you guys.

Coffee! I spent time at a Quebec logging camp as a teenager. The cooks boiled coffee on a wood stove in those big blue pots. The bottom servings were the dregs!

Did anyone miss me?

All our internet/cable/phone services have been out for 3 days. Gotta love a company that can't give you a straight answer.....services will be back in 10 hours, or 24 hours or 48 hours or at 5pm or 48+ more hours.
And of course, the last was 48+ and we got services within the hour.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

The highest point in Key West is the hill with the cemetery at 18' ASL.

NOAA is predicting a storm surge of 12'.

That doesn't leave a lot above water.

The Weather Channel has a guy in Key West. They had him on the phone a couple of hours ago, he said he was at a hotel (didn't say which one) and claims he'll be safe. About an hour ago they reported the power had gone out in KW.

Due to PITA Irma.........vacation plans were moved Westward Ho! We'll be saying hello to the Mile High City instead of Surfside Beach. Was hoping for a stop at your local Beer Den as well as trying to persuade you for a meet & greet at one of your craft beer hotspots but alas not to be. Will have to put a shout out to Penny & E for a brewery meet & greet! Will Not be expecting any beach time in Denver but rain not in the forecast & 85+ temps on the horizon. Bring on the Rocky Mountain High. 8)

Lone Tree Brewing has some good beer. We all met there last year when we were in CO for the Buffett show at Red Rocks.
