Took the day off to burn some comp leave because I was recently told I can only carry over 80hrs to next year.
I have been working a bunch of OT & comping it so I can take off next summer but they threw a wrench in my plans

Not a lot going on here. Except we decided to have a 'store bought' Thanksgiving dinner today to try and take the sting out of the sadness at the upcoming 1 year 'anniversary' of my Dad's passing last year, 2 daysMorning after Thanksgiving. I even broke out the good dishes for the three of us. It's made me smile.

Well 80hrs equals 6.66 days for me so, yeah

At my old job we were allowed to carry everything over year to year. The bad thing was we accrued vacation days on a monthly basis, 1 2/3 days per month. In a 12 month period, that's 20 days. If you made it to 25 days you stopped accruing until you were back under 25 and you never got the days back that you didn't accrue. I made it to 25 days once. After that I used to take a day every now and then, even if I didn't have any plans, just to make sure I never got to 25 again.

Before it got up to 42 degrees, the breeze was nippy. I had a few flakes of the dreaded white stuff earlier, but later on the wind went flat and I took off my gloves for awhile.

Thanks for the hugs, friends. Our dinner turned out great. Had windows open while cooking, and now it's snowing.
