Good Morning BN!
Here's a little trivia for you....it's National ROCKEFELLER CENTER TREE LIGHTING day. (I love that tree)
The date of the annual Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in New York City changes annually.
Every year since 1933, an evergreen tree plucked from its spot in New York or Vermont, Ohio or Pennsylvania or even Canada, is erected at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. It is trimmed with hundreds of ornaments and thousands of colorful lights and topped with a star and on a selected day after Thanksgiving, is lit for the world to see.
The tree must exceed 65 feet to be selected for the honor of gracing Rockefeller Center. The tallest tree selected was a 100 foot Norway Spruce from Killingworth, Connecticut.
Each year the tree is donated to various organizations. In years past, the tree has been ground into mulch and donated to the Boy Scouts of America to be sold to fund projects. Recently, Habitat for Humanity has been a benefactor of the great tree for use in the construction of homes.

Good morning, Linda, Bill and BN.
We used to go to the tree lighting when we lived in Times Square in the early 90s. That was when they still lit it early, like 6pm, and then everyone would disperse after to the nearby bars and restaurants. Back then there was no big televised hours long show and musicians and stuff.

Good morning.
I worked in 30 Rock for 13 years. I never worked late the day of the tree lighting ceremony, I wanted to avoid the crowds on my way back to Penn Station. I couldn't wait for them to take it down in January.

I wonder who will be stepping in for Matt Lauer , since he got fired by NBC this week ( announced this morning ).

With Matt Lauer fired, they'll probably use Al Roker for the tree lighting.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't know how you dealt with the crowds during the holidays. I rarely go into Manhattan and the crowds still annoy the heck out of me.
Morning BN.

Ahoy! I went to the ER due to a ongoing leg pain. I was worried about a blood clot. It was a severe strain. I can live with that.

Thanks, Ken. There's nothing fun about getting old.
