No tailgate at Fenway=skipping this year. Come back to Great Woods! Mohegan would work for us, too. Very sad to miss this one!

Tailgate wasnt "GREAT" but it was fun and it was a great show in an absolutely beautiful setting. Especiially ending with the Neil Young song. Bethel has one of the best lawn sound systems (IMHO)

I am off during the summer but the week of August 9th is the one week I am working and running a hockey camp.

Good ol Camden here we come! Unless he announces Atlantic City Beach again. Cause that was awesome.

I also wonder if the fenway and Wrigley shows will be played on MVILLE TV. Right now, it just shows that they will broadcast on Radio Mville

I wonder why he would want to play at Fenway. The money? Not that he needs it. Not a great venue to see a show. Saw Billy Joel there last summer. The sound is not that great. Plus, no tailgating. Ugh.

And ticket prices will be crazy, add in parking (unless you use public transport), pre-concert bar tabs, and hotel it'll be cheaper to drive to another venue.

I am sure I'll be getting my Red Sox season ticket presale email soon.

He is overdue for a Mohegan Sun stop and Saturday the 11th would be a great day for a show. Back in 2009 he played there the Saturday before Thanksgiving and it was 72 degrees outside - awesome time. Plus, there is a Margartitaville in Mohegan Sun .

The funny thing is Great Woods is virtually empty this summer. There are only 2 Saturday shows scheduled so far. Great Woods typically schedules shows from May to late September. There are at least 15 Saturday dates open this Spring and Summer. I'm sure some will fill in by Mid March but its still a ton of open time for weekend shows at an out door venue.

I don't know what Jimmy's rationale is about Fenway but my first thought is that he is completely out of touch with his New England fan base if he thinks people want a Fenway Park show over a Great Woods show. ESPECIALLY a Thursday show. Who the f@ck wants that? Ever hear about Boston rush hour Jimmy?

Hasn't he been having trouble selling out a Saturday show at Great Woods the last couple of years? No way a Thursday show at Fenway sells out.

He had no problem selling out Greatwoods on Saturday night last year, the problem was the venue would not agree to opening the parking lots at 11am as Jimmy wanted instead they did not open until 1pm and traffic was not pretty waiting to get in

Parking lot opened at 1 and we were drinking by 1:20. Ride in was fine for us. If the parking lots opened at 7 am like they did years ago it would have been even easier and I would have been drinking by 7:10. Its all science it is.

Fenway and a Thursday. Extremely disappointed. Hopefully he will do Jones Beach and I'll pack everything for a road trip.

Yes. The last few year's they sold some of the upper corner pavilion seats at lawn prices as the show got closer due to lackluster sales. He did sell out each year but it didn't sellout as fast as it had in the past. In the last 2 years they didn't even put they two upper corner pavilion sections on sale (Sec 9 & 15) until later in the summer until they were sure the other sections would be filled. Tickets were available pretty much all summer. They'll get a lot of the corporate people to go to the Thursday show at Fenway but I can't see how they are going to fill all 36K or so seats on that ballpark on a Thursday for a guy that most people don't care to go see if there is no tailgating. No offence to Jimmy but most people go to his shows for the tailgating experience. .

This will be the first non-private show Buffett concert in Mass I'll miss since the early 1990's I think.

Actually GW didn't sell out , until they dropped the prices on the open air seats , even then it wasn't completely filled. As for the opening the parking lot time , that was Buffetts doing , according to his contract , he asked for it. As for why Fenway , well probably because it's Fenway. The history of the park , and Buffett being a baseball fan.

Well, If there is a GW show this year, we'll go most definitely .
Mohegan shoe most probably.
Jones Beach, possibly but Fenway...
Most definitely NOT.

Sad to say it looks like we won't be seeing any BN friends this year but we can always hope....

Where did you read that Buffett requested the 1:00 parking lot opening. We have seen him at Great Woods since the mid 90's, I never remember the lot opening so late. I was told by A Great Woods employee that he always requests the early lot opening in his contract.
