I don't think the presale went well. Monday was the Red Sox season ticket presale, Tues and wed were for Amex then general public is Friday but they sent me another email today saying another Red Sox season ticket holder presale would happen tomorrow. 1st time they have ever done a second presale for one show without a second date being added.

Logged in at 10:03. Got right in and ordered 8 tickets and got section A3 row 9.   If you've never seen Jimmy Buffett and want a good seat this might be the best opportunity that you're gonna get.

Edit - no, I didn't keep them. For $1,500 I can find something better to do.

Edit # 2 - 10:37 still groups of 8 on the field and in the stands. Groups of 4 in the "A" sections. I've never seen such a slow sell for a MA Buffett show. Gillette sold faster than this.

Looks like the only seats that were heavily targeted were the 36.00 dollar ones.

Obviously people aren't overly psyched for this show BUT I wonder if ticket availability has to do with scalpers (Aceticket) not aggressively buying seats because they know they won't turn a profit.

General Public goes on sale tomorrow. I don't know , if most people know there is a Live Nation Pre-sale today. Unless you are registered with them.

It's funny, there are like 5 presales going on right now for this show at what point does one stop feeling special for being part of a presale? There is Live Nation, Amex, Amex Preferred, Season ticket holder & guests, Platinum Seating all doing presales and some have been going on since Monday and just now I was able to pull up 2 field seats in the 17th row at a cost of $178 each... 17th row should not be available this long after tickets went on-sale.

In the weeks leading up to the show tickets start falling to about $50 on stubhub I'd consider going in but no chance I'm paying much more than that for this concert. I'm no planning on attending but if a cheap ticket falls my way and I'm not away I'd consider it.

Every year there is a presale. Every year Sections 1 - 8 sell out other than singles at Great Woods. The lawn also sells out immediately. If sections 9 - 15 didn’t exist the lawn would still sellout immediately. All during presale.

Btw - Turf A Seats still available.

I think the main thing is the scalpers are staying away this year. A 7pm Thursday show is a tough sell.

I don't know if it's venue specific, but I've found that all the tix aren't available in the pre-sale, & that you can score better seats at the onset of the normal sale than you can get later in the day in the pre-sale. At least that's what I've noticed at the home Detroit area concert venue. [smilie=noeyedear-shrugging.gif] [smilie=noeyedear-shrugging.gif]

I'm sure that is the case, they also hold some of the better seats back for comps, the band, corporate folks etc...... but that fact so many of the good seats are still available 5 days since the presale started is telling. I just tried again, still plenty of field seats available.

One of the biggest secondary ticket companies Ace Ticket has a lot of tickets for this show available for less than face value listed already.

It's kind of telling that there is no "Who's going to Fenway" thread here, at least not one that I could find.
The response to this seems to be underwhelming.

That place is pretty cool. It’s settled. Jimmy is playing Meadowbrook. I’ll let the guy with the pink umbrella know so he can contact the guy who knows Jimmy Buffett’s secretary to let her know know the plan so Jimmy can get started making an extra special non stupid Fenway on a Thursday at 7pm set list.

And then, especially for you, he can do a little Sunday night show at the Chicken Box on his way out. [smilie=sillyjester.gif]

This is too perfect not to happen. If we were on Buffett’s management team he’d be rich!

3pm show at the Box then a conga line down to Madaket Beach for the sunset where he plays a 20 minute acoustic version of Tin Cup chalice. Find a flaw in this. You can’t.

Other than the conga line would go for miles. But it would be worth it.

OK you picked the ONE thing I'd be able to get psyched about. I was looking at Airbnb's for ACK in OCTOBER and anything with even a beach view is ridiculously expensive. I used to be able to find really pretty nice places on Madaket or Sconset that wouldn't require a second mortgage - not anymore.
