WOW....I was thinking about going to that show since the Billy Joel channel is back up on SiriusXM. The fees alone will pay for most of my gas to drive back to Pennsylvania.

Fenway - yuk. I had already figured that my years of seeing Jimmy were coming to a close - I wanted to spend my music money on some other artists and concerts. But then the whole Orlando/Eagles thing happened so I WILL be seeing Jimmy this year, just not in my backyard. Should he do HOB I'd consider that since that's a cool venue.

Someone mentioned Tanglewood, it's a fantastic venue with a huge lawn but the normal tailgate shenanigans would never be tolerated. You can bring food and booze in but openly drunken behavior and bathing suits, coconut bras etc are not part of that particular vibe.

Announced today Buffett in Pitt on 7/7 so that takes away any Fenway Park show that weekend. Also announced Virginia on Aug 4th so an August leg will be added. July 20th still a possibility for a Fenway show with the FooFighters already scheduled for two shows the next two days.

Still sticking with the June 16th date. If not Sept 1st. Those are both Saturdays. The rest of the dates ( from what is booked at Fenway ) would be Friday's and lets hope not Thursday's

The September 1st date is rumored to be an Alpine Valley Show

Saw the Alpine news but it doesn't make sense. They need Wrigley to sell and Alpine and Wrigley are 90 miles apart so they are pulling from the same area. If they announce an Alpine show in the near future Wrigley would really be hard pressed to sell tickets because given the choice most would go to Alpine. And last time he played at Apline they didn't sellout as it was... Unless they wait to announce Alpine until close to or after the Wrigley show which would be even odder announce a 9/1 show in mid July. Then there is the whole issue that Wrigley has restricted him playing at Alpine the same year. Last two years he played at Wrigley there was no Alpine show.

But nothing so far about his 2018 had made sense so who knows. So maybe Fenway will be a ZBB/Buffett weekend in mid-June. Although I suspect if they do the crowd for Buffett will be embarrassing small. Esp with the Fenway ticket prices because most fans of both given a choice would likely go to ZBB esp the younger crowd.

Wrigley did not restrict Jimmy from playing there last year, the venue never opened in 2017 for any acts. This year they are opening for a few shows and they want Jimmy. Right now Alpine has The Dead and Company for 2 nights in July and Zac Brown for 2 nights in August

The Wrigley show is July 13 and the rumored Alpine show would be almost 8 weeks later so there should be no problem doing both shows. I saw some comments on another site from some Buffett fans are considering both Wrigley and Alpine if both shows happen

Tryin' to reason with concert announcement season
Denver 6/28
Minn 6/30
Camden 7/5
Pitt 7/7
Chicago 7/13

Seems to make sense at least one more show added between Pitt and Chicago but it won't be Fenway because the Red Sox are home that week.

Indy? Cincy? Jones Beach?

it seems more and more less likely like Fenway is going to happen.

Jimmy Buffett is not listed in this article: https://www.boston.com/culture/arts/201 ... his-summer

Its probably because he hasn't announced the date for his show at Fenway yet. But . . . maybe, just maybe, someone told him most people prefer Great Woods. :D

I don't believe that, by the way.

Only 2 Saturday shows listed at GW so far: https://www.livenation.com/venues/14479/xfinity-center Wonder who the bands will be that get the weekend dates.

This happened a few years ago. There were Fenway rumblings but he ended up playing GW.

What really stinks is that with no confirmation one way or the other yet some of our crew have already made other plans for Pitt and Camden so we won't be together again. :(

Its very possible that 'talks' were in the works at the time leading up to the NYE show and then fell through. Either way, having to wait this long sucks - People have to make plans !

When Fenway Park was granted a permit to start having concerts it was on a trial basis and only 2 per year. That changed after a couple of years and they were allowed to have more based on the positive feedback/limited noise from the ballpark bothering the neighborhood. They can now have up to 8 shows per year, for 2018 they have 9 scheduled! The got permission to have two Pearl Jam shows putting them at 9 because it is Labor Day weekend. This is why the Pearl Jam tickets had not go on sale yet despite being announced weeks ago, waiting for final city approval. The presale for PJ starts tomorrow. To add a 10th show they need city permission again, this is the likely hold up of any announcement.

We're approaching the time of year where we would normally be gearing up to cram the Live Nation phone lines to buy tickets (and subsequently go to Stub Hub because the bots bought all the tickets...but that's another conversation).

usually early/ mid March for GW tickets to go on sale. I expect an announcement this week.
