Alpine's pavillion is very small----and remember there are 100s of ticketmaster outlets and the internet. Its one of the major stops on the tour. Thats why the pavillion sells out so fast for all the shows. I have heard even some people who were first and second in line not being able to get pavillion seats

Tickets for Alpine have always been tough to come by for any major show. It's really based on 2 things luck or knowing somebody on the inside. Everytime I have stood in line at a ticketbastard outlet I get screwed. My best results have always been calling in.

Talk about luck....I scored 8 reserved seats online. I thought I almost lost them when trying to confirm, but then they came thru...the Buffett Gods were looking after me.

Here's a depressing story - was in line at a small Ticketmaster in downtown Minneapolis. 6 of us in line. The first people wanted 8 pavillion seat - and got them - but didn't like where they were and made the poor girl search for new seat. 2 pavillions seats came back. Then the 2 idiots stood there and discussed whether or not to take them (which they didn't) while the rest of us waited impatiently for our turn.

Not all of us in line got our tickets that day because of these blustering idiots (who I overheard were members of the local Parrothead club from St. Cloud, MN - if you can believe that!) They got there early enough to stand in line, were obviously fans if they were going to pay the price for pavillion ticks - in my book they were rude and inconsiderate to the rest of us waiting our turn and should have known better.

Yes, the ticketmaster girl should have given them one chance and them gone onto the next person in line, but in her defense she was young, unaware of this event and its popularity and was doing the best she could to get all of us seats.

Feathered Friend,

Did you by chance happen to be in Racine to buy your tix? I was and we had the same thing happen. I always thought first day of sale was cash only. Instead, everybody decided it was wise to try to use their credit card and slow down the line. What a jumbled mess it was. Only the first 11 in line got tix at all.

Lucky to be number 10!

A friend and I went Sat am to what we thought would be a relatively uncrowded outlet...it usually is...apparently 20 other people had the same idea we did! fortunately my pal drew 3rd in the lottery. We had been having a great conversation with all the other parrotheads there in line...then we found out the first two in line were going to use a credit card!!! The kind people running the ticketb*****d computer explained to them this was the equivalent of suicide as far as tixx were concerned...they warned everyone it would slow the system down by three minutes per transaction. The people in front of us were kind enough to use the last half hour to get some cash...I guess Piggly Wiggly is one of those rare places that does take plastic the first day of sale. Only the first person in line got pavilion. We got lawn, I am just happy to be able to say I'm going! last year we got shut out for Alpine. If I have any cancellations I will be sure to let everyone here know first. Can't wait for the party at Alpine and to meet more phellow Parrotheads! Phins up y'all!!

I happened to be in Sheboygan getting my tickets. first time at that particular outlet since the one i had been using no longer has ticket master. i even tried to explain to the bone head that was first in line that using a credit card would make it more difficult for the rest of us to get tickets. but he basically just ignored me. just goes to show "there's no dumb ass vacine", but it sounds as though there are plenty of people out there that need one.

Speaking of Alpine..I was lucky enough to grab 8 tix and I feel for those who were robbed! We go every year with a group of 30+ people and so far my 8 tickets are the only ones we have (aagghh!!) So anyone with tix to sell..we'd love to hear from you! (We're all Minnesota & Wisconsin PH's) And just a note..I grew up near Alpine and worked there through high school & college. JB used to be a very small show for Alpine (in the late 80's they'd sell about 12,000 tickets, I think Alpine now seats 40,000+, anyway..it's amazing how tough it is now to get tickets. I'm happy for JB & his success..but it s***s now that the overwhelming popularity has rained on our parade!! (& made scalpers RICH!) We miss our days of "easy come" tickets!!
