I got nothing.
For most all, having a holiday weekend show is great timing, and without hassle to fully enjoy oneself during a holiday weekend. For organizers and planners, it presents some unique challenges. There are only about 500 things going on in Cleveland Memorial day weekend, and Akron is extremely busy as well. Hotel rooms are limited and at a premium. Calls have been made everywhere, nothing is set in stone, and the likelihood of a hotel pre-party are getting slimmer and slimmer with each day. Calls are out, and some PHolks are stepping in to help with calls in an attempt to secure a spot, but is looking rough as of this minute. That is not to say that it will not change, we are not done yet by any means. We are getting quoted $200+ per night, and we know that is not going to work.
I cannot go into everything I know, as I was asked to keep some things quiet, understandably, until details are more firmly set. I will say Amo is meeting with Margaritaville Cleveland to work out details about a possible epic pre-concert party with a couple of top notch bands, as a great deal of out of towners have expressed an interest in seeing the place.(If I said too much, sorry Amo.....I could have told them more......
Buses have been looked at, and priced out, working on where and when. We want a hotel pick up with a reasonable rate that night so you can park, then sleep within feet of your ride to and from the concert and the tailgating action. A lot of time has been dedicated and will continue to be dedicated to find the best possible situation to attempt to please all.
I recommend finding something anywhere that works for you at this time, keep an eye here, you can cancel and join in once plans are finalized.
PHins crossed. As I said, couple of heavy hitters are going to start to pull some strings, and work their magic to see if they can come up with a good solution, and we may know something in a couple of days.
Sometimes it's tough to be a saint in the city.........but if half of what we hope works out, it will be awesome!
