Morning friends. Off to an Easter egg hunt with the 4 & 7 yr old grandsons. Hope one finds the “golden egg” and shares it with their Nonny!!! (But since I don’t like chocolate they’ve got it made )

Good morning. Baconfest 2018 is at the House of Blues today but I have an appointment to donate platelets at the Red Cross. That takes over 2 hours, maybe I can get a little Baconfest in when I'm done.

Mmmmm... bacon.

Usual Mom shopping today, then back home to do some cooking this weekend. No Easter plans of any kind.

Nothing planned for us either....Ryan is going to bake a cheesecake, and I am making green apple jello for him, some Spring cookies and bake a ham and side dishes tomorrow.
I hate that it is just the 3 of us for Holidays....I miss our big family gathering of days gone by......

So an egg hunt with about 50 kids is similar to Christmas morning with 2 kids. Over in about 3 minutes! But the boys had fun and loved all the prizes inside the plastic eggs.

Ahoy! I was going to work out, but a ride for a beer and a burger won me over.
Our town used to have a big egg hunt on a 10 acre sports park. We hid the eggs at dawn, sometimes on snow, then I'd return during the hunt to drop a few extra eggs for kids to find. I'd give the parents a high sign to aim the little ones towards their special "find."

Got up fairly early, brushed the 2 big dawgs, started cleaning house, hubby went to the grocery for me. (Love him to bits) basically all that's left for me to do is mop the humongous muddy paw prints from the floor and then I can start cooking for tomorrow! What's on your menu? We are hosting 2 of our 3 girls with the youngest one bringing her boyfriend, so keeping it simple. A ham n scalloped potato casserole, roasted asparagus, deviled eggs, pistachio salad and dinner rolls. For dessert I'm making a Chocolate Reese Cup Pie. Happy Easter Eve!

Sounds yummy, except the asparagus.

We're having leg of lamb, risotto, and a Greek salad. Just cause it's Sunday.

From an outsiders view, the US has always been somewhat inward looking. The current 'administration' is taking it to a new level.

I suspect that areas that rely on international tourism will suffer greatly. Many Aussies are saying that it is a big world with plenty of places in our own backyard that are begging us to visit and spend money so the US is slipping down the list of 'want to visit countries'. Which is a bit sad.

(This is not being critical of US policy - you get to set that not me!! But the external view is of closing borders and restricting trade- adds up to a feeling of declining influence and appeal)

I was gonna serve fresh green beans, but hubby wanted asparagus and it was on sale so, I caved. Especially since he was the one at the grocery! Your menu sounds wonderful!
