G'morning!! :) Today is Rockies opening day. Not going, but it's gonna be a chilly one, with a chance of some snow.

Good morning.

The Pelicans got the season off to a bad start, they lost 6-2 and they played a very sloppy game. They were only charged with 1 error but there should have been 2 more, all in the first inning. They played the Frederick Keys (Baltimore Orioles Class A team), whose second baseman is the son of former major leaguer Rafael Palmeiro.

I got to the ballpark early last night because it was a sellout crowd, standing room only, and I didn't want to park all the way at the end of the parking lot. I was killing time before the game started, sipping on a frosty beverage and looking through the program. This year's Pelicans team has a D.J. and a P.J., a Jhon and a Jhonny (yes, with the "h" before the "o") and 3 Tylers. They also have a relief pitcher whose grandfather is baseball Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew.

I saw an article on ESPN.com about the Denver Post publishing a guide to Coors Field in today's edition but the picture they used was of Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Oops

Afternoon BNers

Guitar Center offered a free Senior guitar class. I signed up weeks ago. I got there early and was told the classes were Sat. Nope, it is today but the manager didn't know it. And I was the only one, so I had a private lesson.
The lesson teacher was so nice. He wanted to each me an Eagles song, but we started talking music and that was the end of my chord learning. Lol
I had fun but won't be joining a band...ever.

We had a little bit of action at the courthouse today.

SInce Jan 1, 2017 no individuals (except county employees and attorneys with State Court ID) are permitted to bring a cell phone or any type of electronic device with recording capability into the Courthouse. There are 5 signs posted before you get to our security checkpoint that tell you this. Today, a woman got to "post 1" and had a cell phone. The deputies explained the rule to her but apparently, she felt it didn't apply to her so she ran through the metal detector and sprinted towards the elevator bank. She made it inside on but a deputy stuck his arm between the doors to keep it from moving. She was not happy and verbally expressed her displeasure in a rather loud and obnoxious way. She's been arrested for disorderly conduct :).

Then, we had a civil hearing where a residential (business) landlord was evicting a tenant, having received court approval to proceed. The woman, unrepresented by an attorney, proceeded to tell the Judge if he gave her a final eviction date she would kill herself and, in fact, had bought all the necessities to proceed with killing herself. Stop the hearing -- call the local mental health court office to come and assess her for a "302" commitment. Which is an involuntary commitment if the person is deemed to be a harm to themself or another individual......She was escorted from the courthouse for her evaluation - we're still waiting for the final evaluation.

Is it 5:00 yet :o

I missed Thirsty Thursday, and a corn hole tournament, at the Beer Den yesterday because I was at the ballgame. They're having Frisky Friday today, 1/2 price pints from 4:00-8:00. I checked the beer list and 6 of the 8 are beers I've haven't had yet. I think I'll be going to Happy Hour at the supermarket.

When I was leaving Happy Hour, I stopped at the make your own 6 pack section. They didn't have 6 that I haven't tried already so I asked the guy at the Beer Den how much it would cost if I only bought 1 or 2. It's $1.99 + tax for a single. I bought one, Evil Twin Brewing Eggnog IPA. I'm going to wait a few days to drink it because I already have some beers in the fridge but I'm prepared to be disgusted.

It's snowing here in N Central Ohio. 😒 But we are going to see the Eagles in concert on Sunday. An early anniversary gift from our daughters. Getting excited to see them again, but sad that Glenn Frye won't be with them this time...😢

Plkenty of that stuff on Youtube, too. Along with some ways to simplify the nearly impossible F chord by playing it as an F7 chord.

I don't have a guitar. I had one in college, but someone else ended up with it.
