Good morning. Today is National Chicken Wing Day but I won't be celebrating at Hooters. If it was a weekday I might go but it'll be too crowded today. I'm going to the Pelicans game tonight if the rain holds off, it's Christmas Vacation In July Night so I'll wear my ugly Christmas sweater jersey from 3 years ago. I hope it's a better game than last night. The Pelicans won 1-0 in 12 innings. They had 5 hits, the other team only had 3, in 12 innings. :o The game was on TV and when it was over the announcer said the Pelicans had won a "battle of great ineptitude."

Happy B'Day to Larry! I’ve never been one for milestone birthdays (other than 16, getting my driver’s license was a biggie!) and 30, 40, 50, and 60 came and went without much fanfare. Many of you will agree, the more you’ve had the less notable they are. We were in a checkout line at our favorite grocery store and they had these huge mylar balloons celebrating their 70th anniversary of being in business. I looked at those big gold numbers, SEVEN and ZERO and thought “Holy Crap, that’s me in less than two years!” The store continued their celebration far too long and every time we were there I wanted to take my pocket knife and pop those damn numbers…

Happy birthday Larry! Seven Zero was a tough one for me, first birthday that's made me feel old. Nothing planned today, probably wash the car and splash in the pool.

Happy Birthday Larry!!

The only "milestone" that bothered me was 40. It was the spring semester of my first year of law school and most of my classmates were 22 and 23. Fifty didn't bother me, at 60 I was already retired (there were other good things about that year too, but that's a story for another time), 70, I'll let you know in 4 years.

HI all :)

I have been Laaaaazzzzzzyyyyyyy today. Almost 3 and I am still in pajamas. Been piddling around all day doing laundry and paying bills. Filled out all the back to school forms for the kids and spent a little time looking at my work calendar and all the conflicting appointments which the right hand is setting up without consulting with the left hand. Made a list of the calls I need to make to reschedule or get out of things so I am no longer double and triple booked. Not looking forward to returning to work since I totally love my summers off. Now I am watching the Tigers get pounded by the Indians and listening to a 14 year old argue with Google about the cost of loft bed systems. She wants to repaint her room which is now turning into a full on makeover. I keep reminding her she has a $250 budget but she is adamant she "NEEDS" new flooring, a new bed system, paint, curtains, and other treatments.

I admire her persistence but she is going to need the lottery more than me at the rate she is going.

We had a little rain this afternoon but it's semi-sunny out now. If it stays like this for another 45 minutes or so, it'll be time to head to the ballpark.

Larry has been the room all day not feeling well. So Ryan and I went to Magic Kingdom. We were as far from the bus as we could be and it started to pour. Of course, we have ponchos and umbrellas in the room. [smilie=battingeyes.gif] [smilie=asa.gif]
Larry is feeling better so we are going to Boathouse for dinner....if we can get there without floating.

40 was the bad birthday for me. Kids were 12 and 9 and starting to not need Mom as much. Or so they thought. Anyway 50 was fine. 60 in 425 days but who’s counting. :o

Glad to hear Larry is feeling better. :) Hope the dinner is nice.

We walked a broken up mile this morning. Stop in between for a breakfast break at Starbucks, then walked back home. I so love walking again!!!

45 is the birthday that got to me a little. I have 554 days till I'm 60. THAT one will be weird. :o

Rockies won. :D Cubs are Cardinals are weather delayed. Mom was going to try to turn on the TV herself tonight. She always tries, but doesn't understand the remote well. I finally wrote out instructions, and labeled the remotes. I hope that helps.
