Sat in the waiting room for a freaking HOUR! So I decided to leave and reschedule for next week on yet another day off...and when I rescheduled I was informed that my regular doctor was completely unavailable for the month of August and oh, by the way she's retiring in Sept...well thanks for letting me know....😒😒😒 So my morning was wasted and now I get to do it all over again next Thursday. Next time I'm scheduled for 8:10 am, so hopefully they won't be running an hour behind that early in the day. What kills me is...if you are 15 min late they can reschedule you but after an hour, not even an explanation until I was ready to walk out.
What kills me more than that is, if YOU are more than 15 min late, you get skipped & have to pay the copay for the appt (at least w our Dr) but we get do not get a free visit, etc if they are late...
My dentist has a policy where if you don't show up for an appointment but don't let them know ahead of time, they charge you $75. I've never had to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes but I doubt if they give you a discount if you have to wait an hour or more.

At this moment it looks like a half day for me tomorrow. But don't rule out some west coast weenie scheduling a late meeting/call.

Do I watch Astros, Texans or Big Brother?

Think I'll watch Astros, DVR BB and check in on Texans during commercials...it is preseason.

:o Never heard of it!! :)

Astros, Molly. :)

So - I had a really good day. Learned more stuff, more of what I'll be doing, including sorting mail and covering the front desk when the gal takes her breaks. I did that twice today, and did okay! I hate my physical desk, however. There's a contraption on it that lowers/raises the work station. It covers most of the desk. So I've asked Facilities to remove it, and put my CPU under the desk. I have no work space, no supplies, no filing cabinet. So I asked for another file cabinet, too. There's a MUCH better desk set-up that a part-time accounting person works at, and it's much more designed to be the desk *I* should work at. And everyone agrees, so I'm gonna talk to my boss, Marc, in a few days when I'm a little more settled. BUT - I have a big window which is nice. And all the offices that the team works in are all former patient rooms. So I have a small bathroom and a sink IN the room. LOL!!!!! The best part are the people. SO friendly, SO nice, and I've liked everyone. It's sure been a long week, but it's been good. Biggest change? I have to use a fingerprint scan on a time clock. I haven't used a time clock in 30+ years, but it makes sense for the medical staff. They don't sit in front of computers all day.

I had that happen to me a few years ago . . . I got there early, wasn't put in an exam room until 30 minutes after my appointment, they took my vitals and had me undress and put on a hospital gown for when the dr came in (which would be "shortly.")

After 45 minutes (I read every 3 year old Good Housekeeping mag in the room) I'd had enough and was putting my clothes back on when the dr finally came into the room. He was surprised (and acted hurt) that I was leaving and said that he was very busy and was doing the best that he could. I told him that all it took was for someone on the staff to check in with me once in a while to let me know that he was running late and would be in to see me eventually.

My wife worked for the same clinic and they were going through all kinds of cost cutting measures. I reminded him that I wasn't just a patient, but I was also a CUSTOMER, and they couldn't/shouldn't be keeping customers waiting for more than an hour, 'cuz they would start going elsewhere.

Ever since, not only do they see me on time, but usually he comes out to the waiting room to get me himself or at least to see how I'm doing. I wonder if they have "CAUTION" stickers on my file, like they did on my cat's file at the vet ("CAUTION, CAT BITES")????

After a dr visit not too many months ago they actually left me in the exam room after the dr saw me. He said his goodbye and then “the nurse will be back shortly with your paperwork”. She never came back and after 10 mins I walked out. The office was dark and everyone but one woman had gone home. She was turning out the last lights when I made it to the front door. :o

Yep. :) Since I'm not a MEDICAL person, I get a little less of it, but LOTS of it for employee files, meeting minutes, HR files, learning files, and things related to immunization files.

That happened to me years ago. Nurse put me in a room and dr forgot about me and went HOME. I thought it was really quite so when I opened the door another clinic dr was so surprised to see me. She was so sorry. She did what I came in for. I got a call later that evening to make sure I was ok. Guess they were afraid I cause cause problems for the clinic.

Are you watching the Astros-Mariners MsMolly? First inning was fun, if you're a Mariner fan....
The first four batters hit for the cycle! Mitch Haniger hit a leadoff home run (first time hitting lead off), followed by Denard Span with a triple, Jean Segura with a double, and Nelson Cruz with a single. Justin Verlander then retired the next three batters to keep the score at 3-0. Seattle is up 8-5 in the top of the 8th.
