Vinyl Record SUNDAY @ the MSC

Hey folks of BN!

It's NATIONAL VINYL RECORD DAY

The Beatles, Elvis Presley, The Monkees. Does the mention of these musicians make you picture a round black record? A vinyl record? The vintage vinyl is almost as much of a classic as the bands themselves.

These vinyl records are commemorated annually on August 12. Vinyl records are also known as a gramophone record, phonograph record or a record. It is an analog sound storage medium consisting of a flat disc which has an inscribed, modulated spiral groove.

Anyone still have a record player ???

Morning Linda & BN.
Nope, no record player or vinyl records here. I do have a few cassette tapes around somewhere [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

My normal morning coffee at the tiki while watching the pup run around the yard. Soon I will pack my suitcase & the truck as I am leaving for Myrtle Beach tomorrow! [smilie=graytard.gif] [smilie=giggle.gif]

Happy vinyl Sun pholks!

Good morning BN. Yes, I still have a turntable, plus hundreds of LPs. Even have the first JB albums I bought at Sears in KW, Livin and Dyin and WSCaAPC. Most of the LPs are from the 60's and 70's.

Good morning Linda, Steve and Andrea. My LP's are in the attic and will stay there. Ladders are the way into the attic and I'm not that motivated to remove them.

Morning BNers 8)

Yes, I own vinyl from the past. But it is mostly stored in our metal shed so it might not be playable. 😔

Good morning.

I have a handful of vinyl records left, I got rid of most of them when I moved south, but I haven't had a turntable in about 20 years.

I have lots of vinyl. Eventually some of them such as the Dean Martin LPs I will transfer with my USB turntable. In the long run I doubt it. Too much work.

Aloha! Yes we still have records, although some of them were lost when moving in and out of various living situations during college. Keet #3 dug out our old turntable and it still works! My first 45 record was Matchbox/Hold On by the Beatles, bought at a grocery store! My first LP was More of the Monkees, a birthday present.

Ang have fun in Myrtle Beach!!

This week is a biggie for me b/c on Tuesday I am going to see Springsteen on Broadway!

seems like each week since your retirement has been a biggie in one way or another :) (not that I'm jealous or anything).

It is finally raining.
About all week, we have had rolling thunder but no rain. But today, it has unloaded. Really raining too hard but maybe some will soak in.

I know, right?? It has been very busy since May when Matt graduated. But after the Bruce show things should be relatively calm for a couple of weeks. Until we go back to Fla. in September. No complaints, though!

afternoon, all.

I have several albums although I downgraded quite a bit about three or four years ago. I got a lot of them for a penny through Columbia House or RCA :D Those were the best until you had to fulfill your requirement.......

I have several of my mom and dad's records which include various operas, classical, and jazz. I also have several soundtracks from plays which we loved to go see when they came to community theater. I have a turntable which I haven't gotten out in years. Maybe that will be something to do once our glorious summer weather is done and we have nothing but time and dark dreary skies with which to contend.

Enjoying the Tiger game where they retired Jack Morris' 47 today. In two weeks they will retire Alan Trammell's 3. Very special as I grew up watching them play and talking baseball with my dad.

The Mariners won all the games this series. I knew the Astros would have a slump but didn't expect it to be this bad. They lost the last 8 home games.
