I went to Myrtle Beach State Park to get my new annual pass and it's such a nice day I decided to stay and do a little strolling through the park. It was packed, the parking lots close to the beach and the fishing pier were all full. I parked at the nature center and had a longer walk to the pier, no sharks today. I didn't see anybody catch any fish either.

I am now.
I left for work at 6:15 am, and got home at 6:15 pm.
(long day, 90 minutes of OT, plus crappy traffic)The front desk/department receptionist/secretary called in sick. So, at just before 8:00, I was asked to cover. Mind you I've only covered the phone for a total of 2 hours since I started. No breaks, except for a 30 minute lunch at 12:45, just before the cafeteria closed.
I learned a lot, I got brownie points for doing it, I volunteered to stay past my 3:30 quitting time till Security comes in (they cover the phone for the evening shift), then asked if I could stay for a pretty important meeting to observe, which I did. When I finally left at 5:00, I got a large thank you from one of the people I report to. So, pffffffft to all those other companies that didn't hire me.
Best part of today? Talking with family members who came in to visit patients.
