:D

Tried a new recipe for dinner. I usually pass over Martha Stewart ones because they seem labor and ingredient intensive. Anyway the chipotle chicken and rice was amazing. And just one pot was used !!! Definitely going on the “make again” pile.

I'm watching the Pelicans game on TV and I just saw one of my neighbors. He's an usher at the ballpark and pretty easy to spot, he's a retired jockey so he's a little guy.

Kira, one of my oldest and dearest friends (I've known her since 1996), her mother passed away a few weeks ago VERY unexpectedly. Heart attack in her sleep, and there was no recovery from it. They had a Celebration of Life for her today. I even got to see 2 friends I used to work with back in 1995/96 that I've not seen since then. It was kind of amazing.

E and Kira surprised me for my birthday in February, as I'd not seen her for several years. :D

This was back in 1996 when we became fast friends. :D

Her mother, Christina (she was born and raised in England), was a loving and delightful woman. When I finally got to see Kira's father (he was born and raised in Mexico) today, he remembered me although it's been more than 10 years since I've seen him. He recognized Cameron, and he remembered that Cameron was 13 the last time he saw him.

The three of us had a wonderful meal afterward at a place called Smokin Fins. :D Lobster deviled eggs, lobster mac and cheese, pulled pork, and fried chicken. OMG, it was great.

And tho I can't bourbon, this bread pudding was amazing.

Hugs to you all. Life is short. Eat well, live well, love even more. :( :D
