Good morning, and thanks to all the vets out there.

It's a nice sunny, but cool, day. I guess I should get a jacket out of the closet since I'll be outside all day. There's a Hurricane Florence Benefit Concert at the Pelicans ballpark today. Darius Rucker is the "special guest" but I don't know much about the other artists on the bill - Michael Ray, Love & Theft, Carly Pearce, The Davisson Brothers, Chase Bryant, Josh Phillips, The Swon Brothers, Warrick McZeke and The Blue Dogs.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

Howdy hi, friends & neighbors.
Thank you to our nation’s veterans.

Having a heat wave in Eastern Iowa today- it’s all the way up to 36, and the SUN 🌞 is actually out.

Enjoy the concert, Larry.. Besides Darius, I know the Swon Brothers. They were on one of those singing contests, and I really liked them. :)

Hope the sunshine will make the day a little better, Garry! :)

Hello Everybody!

Busy weekend but our wonderful friends and guests are all gone now :(.

It was an amazing time of catching up and the MAC SHOW !!!! Wow -- the Forum in our state's capital city of Harrisburg is a beautiful venue. Don't know how many times Mac commented on the beauty, the acoustics and the intimate setting. Eric Darkin played drums and Charleston was doing security for Mac and took all of the meet & greet pics for the fans.

Now, time for lots of laundry and general picking up of stuff around the house. Kevin is napping -- neither of us can take 2 nights of 5 hours of sleep anymore but at least he can nap. Me -- Never.

Even though tomorrow is a holiday I've got an 8:20 appointment (what was I thinking) and he has one at noon (not so bad for him).

Love to each of you -- we are very grateful and blessed to have met so many friends here on BN :)

Morning BNers 8)

We actually have some sun! But it is 56°
I just hate being cold.

It is the last race day of the 2018 NHRA drag racing.
Champions will be crowned.
But that means no racing until Jan.

Ahoy! I listened to Mac's CD on the way home from Ringville. He didn't have Little Martha on it, which is okay, because his version last night was the best effort ever.
If I wasn't fishing in this all day rain,I'd be home doing something stupid.

Been snowing lightly all day. E's cleaned off the cars twice, so hopefully not tooo awful in the am. Hard to tell.

Made biscuits and gravy w/ scrambled eggs for breakfast. Toasted Ravioli, lasagna, bread and salad for dinner. I got ALL the laundry done (it's been a while) and put away. Cleaned dishes. Sorted through two boxes from my desk at DIRECTV, tossed a lot, saved a few things, and bringing a few things to work.

One empty box we were able to put my parents printer in and, and it'll go into storage, along with their computer.

All and all a good weekend. :D Except for the snow.. It's gonna kill my back in the morning. I may or may not have over done it today.

Sounds like a great visit, Linda. :)

While we were in Las Vegas, i got a message about one of our neighbors. The Z family moved in next door to us when we were both pregnant. She had her daughter 10 days before I had Ryan. The kids grew up together. Started school the same time. They plus 3 or 4 other families would have big picnics in our front yard on holidays.

The message was the husband had a heart attack and died. He was younger than us by a few years.

He was the one that ate right and went to the gym everyday after work. He crawled under his cars nightly to look for drips and cleaned his gutters weekly. He was a great neighbor.
I need to go see his wife but I can't can't make myself yet.
However, Ryan and I have made chili, taco soup and queso to take to her. Guess it is time to s*** it up, grow up and contact her.

I know.
I had a hard time ordering flowers. It just made it so final. With us being out of state, it just didn't seem to be possible.
We were so close for so very long.

:( So sorry to hear that, Molly. Yes, go visit. You'll all feel better.

Hiya Moogy. I'll take rain, over snow. Don't have to shovel or scrape rain off of the cars and sidewalks. :D

Home from the concert already, it didn't go until 11:00 like it was supposed to. According to the digital clock on the outfield wall, it was 9:18 when Darius Rucker came out. It was 9:38 when he finished. He did 4 songs.
