Evening BNers

I spent the day watching an online marathon show and auction. All the monies raised went to Give Kids the World in Orlando. Today, they raised $51,000+ and the auctions continue for a few days. It was a great mararhon show and so glad they have so much $$$ to give GKTW.

Looks like it’ll be Iowa vs. Oregon in the Holiday Bowl.
They’ll be a tougher opponent than Washington, who we originally thought the Hawkeyes would be playing.
But Washington would be a tough one to win also.
I don’t like it when Iowa plays a bowl game on the west coast. It’s always against a west coast team and they have to play in front of a hostile crowd.
The fans of Stanford were by far and away the worst a few years ago.
I’d like to see the Hawkeyes play against Washington. Great team, great coach, great fans. If Iowa HAS to lose, it might as well be to a team like the Washington Huskies.
Oh, and who is TTUN?

Ohio State fans do not speak "their name" during HATE WEEK, so whenever you see TTUN, it refers to Michigan.
TTUN stands for The Team Up North

Back in the good old days, the PAC8* and the Big10 champions faced off on New Years Day in the Rose Bowl. Washington and Iowa have played each other twice, in 1982 (UW 28-0) and in 1991 (UW 46-34).

*The Pacific Athletic Conference is now the PAC12 with the addition of the 2 Arizona schools and Utah and Colorado, none of which are anywhere near the Pacific Ocean. Then again, the Big10 has 14 schools....

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but sometimes they have really good ideas....

Thanks for clearing that up. (I’ve always been acronymically challenged).
Yeah, over the past decade & a half, the Big 10 has taken in Penn State, Nebraska, Rutgers, and Maryland. Seems to be working so far- and, although it makes no sense to me, I really don’t mind- two separate divisions have been set up, after years of a 10 team, winner take all League. Iowa is in the Big 10 Western division, so now they don’t play Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, or Penn State that often, and, if you’re a Hawkeye fan, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
I remember both of those Rose Bowl games against Washington. Unfortunately. :-(
Iowa hasn’t won a Rose Bowl since 1956 (or 1957, maybe).
They never do well when they’re on National TV or in any bowl game, although they did win the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium last year over Boston College.
I’m always happy when a Boston team loses at Yankee Stadium.

I've been looking at the bowl projections and if the OSU doesn't get into the playoffs (which I won't be disappointed if they don't) one scenario is Ohio State vs. Washington in the Rose Bowl. We shall see what happens after this Sat in Indy vs. NW
