There was just a story on the 6:00 news that some guy called 911 and said he had just killed a woman with a baseball bat and would be turning himself in after he smoked some crack. :o

Must be that time of year. Earlier Larry said there were police at a house down the street. Just now, we heard sirens and an ambulance has joined the activity. :o
Not sure what is going on but we are staying inside.

Evening! :)

Crazy busy day at work. We're having a "mock" review of a zillion different things, in preparation for an actual state review. I had one portion of this whole thing, and I 'passed'. :D

Our HVAC is awful. They are old wall units. And the windows s***. So it was 45 degrees in my office this morning. It got to 64, but that was it. There were 5 offices in the same condition. I usually run internally warm. But It made my insides cold, too. My back sure did NOT like it. I could barely walk as the day progressed. It was so bad, I had to cancel the trip Downtown to see Ina Garten.    At least one of my tickets resold from the Flash Seats app.

Took a couple of pain pills earlier than I usually do (which is supposed to be bedtime) to see if they make me loopy. If they don't, I'm taking them to work tomorrow.

And I still want some cookies. :D Yes, with PB and chocolate - sorry Linda and Larry. ;)

The Definitive List Of America's Favorite Cookies
By Jenna Amatulli The Huffington Post

Hurray! It's National Cookie Day!
We LOVE cookies and apparently we're not alone because, according to OnePoll.com, the average American eats 18,928 cookies in their lifetime. We'd say that's a lot of cookies, but let's be real: We're not average and we're definitely going to eat A LOT more than that before we die.
So, while we hang here eating all the cookies, here's a list of the top 10 all-time cookie favorites. Though, we have to say, we completely disagree with #2 and don't even think it should be on the list, since it is CLEARLY not even a cookie. What do you think?

1. Chocolate Chip Cookies
2. Brownies
3. Peanut Butter Cookies
4. Oreos
5. Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
6. White Chocolate Macadamia Cookies
7. Sugar Cookies
8. Shortbread Cookies
9. Butter Cookies
10. M&M Cookies

I'm not sure about brownies making the list, but they are good!
My mother made an oatmeal/raisin/applesauce/spice cookie that was sooooo good, but I've never been able to replicate it. She made all kinds of goodies without any recipes (she was a chef) and so when she was gone, so were the goodies. :(

My Mother made Buffalo Chips. You name it, it was in there and soooo good. I have her recipe but haven't made them since she has been gone. Maybe I should find the recipe.......
