Hey everyone!
The things we learn on BN
By Presidential Proclamation, December 17 is Wright Brothers Day. The President is requested each year to issue a proclamation inviting the people of the United States to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
Wright Brothers Day is an annual United States national observation. It is codified in the US Code and Wright Brothers Day commemorates the first successful flights in a heavier than air, mechanically propelled airplane, made by Orville and Wilbur Wright on December 17, 1903, near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
The Wright brothers were American brothers, inventors and aviation pioneers.

Good morning Linda. I'm impressed with the early aviators. The Wrights had bicycle tech and a very crude combustion motor to fly a bunch of wood and canvas.

David McCullough's book on the two of them is a pretty good read. They worked very, very hard and in a cool scientific way.

Did you know the airfield Charles Lindbergh took off from on the first transatlantic flight is now the Roosevelt Field Mall on Long Island?

That flight was scary. Crashing in the North Atlantic if anything went wrong. Yike!

I have to drive by a mall to get to the supermarket. Not quite a full sized mall but bigger than a strip mall. Half the parking lot is roped off for resurfacing. Eight days before Christmas. I wonder what genius set up that schedule?

Well, our internet is finally fixed! We still haven't found our new house, but the grandbabies are coming this Thursday! We will have Christmas with them on Friday, then our annual Family Party on Saturday and they head back to Rochester Sunday morning from the hotel.
We love the buyers of our home, they came for the inspection this past Thursday and they loved on our pups and asked if they were Newfies cause they also have 2 Newfies! And they love everything about the house, said if we couldn't take all of our furnishings or decorative items they may be interested in buying them from us! We feel so good about them having the home we built.

Big coincidence on the Newfies. Jump on that good karma.

I went to Kroger yesterday and a couple was shopping with a Bouvier de Flandres. If you don't know what that is google it. OMG.
Gorgeous dog but huge! He was so sweet, was a therapy dog and insisted on being petted. I think they were more trying to socialize him than shopping.
You never know what you will see at the grocery store.

I've been to their 'museum' and it's great. Except for all of the wasps that were flying around the 'tower', I enjoyed it.

That looks ominous.

Evening BN.

The day was busy, but not hectic like last week. A lot to do, and a lot of interruptions. Still liking it. They just put too much importance on meeting 'minutes'. I was taught short/sweet/concise. They do lengthy/excessively detailed when some things aren't necessary.

Tho, I've already changed/updated several daily forms. Ones like where they've copied their copy of a copy.

I have seen them in dog shows but had no idea how large they are. This one was a sweetheart. I wish I had ask what type of therapy dog he was being trained for.
