Recorded: 1972
Released: 1976
Label: Barnaby
Producer: Travis Turk
Barnaby supposedly “lost” Jimmy Buffett’s second album “High Cumberland Jubilee”. The album would later be found and released after he became successful.
Issues/Versions:
Original Vinyl Information:
BR/6014, Barnaby Records. Album has a plain sleeve, and a yellow (sort of) label with an album melting over a tree branch. A rare variation of this album exists, but is in the music, not the packaging. On this variation “Bend a Little” replaces “England” on side two (repeated from side one, but mixed ever so slightly different), and “Ace” replaces and “Travelin’ Clean.” Also, the track “High Cumberland Jubilee” carries on to the end rather than fading out like on the most common versions of the album (this is the mix that is used on Before The Beach). The label on the second side lists the tracks as they should appear, not as they are. The only way to determine if the album is the rare version is to play it.
Original CD Information:
Varese Vintage VSD-5776. Released June 30, 1998. The 1998 Varese CD Issue contains a bonus track recorded during the sessions, but not originally included on the LP: High Cumberland Dilemma (Jimmy Buffett/Buzz Cason)
