Sail On Captain Tony
I just got a text message from a friend who is in Key West. She says that rumor has it that Capt. Tony has passed. Any confirmations from the flock?
Nothing is coming up yet via 'net searches.
If so ... SAIL ON Captain! Sail on!
A truly sad day.

Here's a related article.

Not about his passing, but about the fact that he was back in the hospital and was going to miss his book event. That's what my friend was in town for.

Here we are, maybe it's because in spite of all the work we do
It's the child in us we really value
Here we are, with our fins up and our feathers flashing
Here we are, with our coconut shell brassieres chanting

You will always be with us because, ..a legend never dies
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

Captain Tony, a Key West legend, dies at 92
A Key West legend died peacefully at the end of a week that celebrated his extra-large life.
Capt. Tony Tarracino, recently memorialized in a new book, though already unforgettable to everyone who met him, died Saturday afternoon. He was 92.
Tarracino had been hospitalized the past week for continuing heart and lung problems. They forced him to miss several events planned for the unveiling of the book, "Life Lessons of a Legend," although each gathering was filled with people sharing memories and laughter of their "Capt. Tony encounters."
