 Good grief. If you choose what music you listen to based on your (or the artists) political views, you are gonna miss out on a lot of good stuff.

Jimmy Buffett, James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, Billy Joel, these five all support Obama, the other thing they have in common is that they have been a big part of my music listening throughout my life. I wouldn't let an entertainer determine who I would vote for, but it does make me feel proud that five of my favorite entertainers are supporting the same guy I do.

A guy I work with didn't care for Paul Newman and wouldn't watch any of his movies because of his politics. You know, if I lived like that I would have missed out on all of John Wayne's good movies. Heck, maybe I should spit on Red Skeleton's grave because he said "God Bless".

I haven´t read all the reponses but I really don´t care if a celebrity I like votes for Obama or not. I do not even mind if they stump for Obama either, but I would mind if during a concert they do so. I am not saying if they just mentioned something in passing, but if they were to go off on a big rant some do the I would care. As far as I know Jimmy hasn´t done anything offensive to me in his support for Obama.

Ive been a Buffet fan now for most of my adult life.....and I gotta tell you, I was really psyched to see Jimmy play Last Chance For Change on Sunday, even though I wouldn't be able to get there.

I remember reading or hearing....I think reading....somewhere where Jimmy said one thing he is always liked, was when people came up and thanked him for all the things he did for the Manatee's, not that he didn't appreciate when they thanked him for his music....but his work for the Manatee's made him proud, and you can tell. I remember being just a kid living in South Florida, and Jimmy's Save the Manatee's commercials. For some reason...even as a kid they stood out to me.

Jimmy's always been an activist for change....and for alot of people...Tuesday could be a historic change in longitude and latitude for that change.

If only I could buy that man a cold one.....

and just say thanks.

Hearing what people had to go thru to get tickets makes it worse. I have always known Jimmy was a democrat. I have known about him playing for Pelosi and Clinton but he did not try to sway voters before the election until now. I have been to more than 20 shows over the past 15 years. I will probably not be seeing another. This upsets my liberal wife who I converted into a parrot head.

I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone suppports this morally corrupt socialist Obama. Considering Jimmy's huge business you would think he would have rethought his economic philosophies at least.

Farewell Parrot heads, it was fun partying with you.
Geez......

vtparrothead's advice to Marky.....

Go to store, purchase 1 bottle of tequila. Find favorite frozen concoction recipe, blender, your shaker of salt.

Gather some phellow parrothead phriends.....

Grill up a great big artery cloggin Cheese Burger.....

Consume. Rinse.....repeat.

Come back in 2009, with a clear head, this elections been rough on all of us, Obama supporters and McCain. Buffett transcends political strife bro...but he's entitled to use his own money the way he see's fit.

Im kinda new around here.....but would love to see you reconsider....2009's gonna be a blast!!!!

I'm kind of glad they took their bat and ball and went home. I'm sure markymarker has had conversations with friends and family and made their reasons known why they support their candidate. Jimmy just has a few more friends . We've been to 3 concerts this year and there was nothing political about it. Last I checked it was still a FREE Country and we all have the right to pick our candidates.

People are people
So why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully
People are people
So why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully

So we're different colours
And we're different creeds
And different people
Have different needs
It's obvious you hate me
Though I've done nothing wrong
I've never even met you
So what could I have done

I can't understand
What makes a man
Hate another man
Help me understand

People are people
So why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully
People are people
So why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully
Help me understand
Help me understand

Now you're punching
And you're kicking
And you're shouting at me
And I'm relying on your common decency
So far it hasn't surfaced
But I'm sure it exists
It just takes a while to travel
From your head to your fist (head to your fists)

I can't understand what makes a man
Hate another man
Help me understand

People are people
So why should it be
You and I should get along so awfully
People are people

Same here :) I guess if I didn't listen to a musician based on politics, my iTunes library would be VERY small

Although I have known that Jimmy votes Democrat for a while, so I've had plenty of time to get over it. I never thought to stop listening to him based on his beliefs, but it did disappoint me initially. But I've been over it for years
