I DON'T read, and this series got me to. Can't believe it.
I read them over the Labor Day weekend. TWILIGHT opens at theaters in a couple of weeks ... can't wait to see how the Bella/Edward story plays out on film ... :D

Loving Frank - the fictionalized telling of the affair between Frank Lloyd Wright and Maymah Cheney ... excellent.

Image

Testimony - Anita Shreve - exellent story of prep students gone wild and the aftermath of a very bad night ... Shreve allows each person effected by the incident tell their story - hence, the title - unique twist as there is no protagonist ... she leaves it up to her readers to judge.

Image

Both books are well worth your time.

Brass Verdict - Michael Connelly. Rough and tumble legal thriller ... liked it, but not as much as the other two.

Image

Have asked for the new Nelson DeMille ... Gate House ... love his work.

The Wonder Crew-Susan Saint Sing.

It's about the 1920 Olympic Rowing Team from the Naval Academy. Think Miracle on Ice only about rowing. Great read.

A BEND IN THE ROAD, Nicholas Sparks. :) :)

Now I'm going to have to read the rest of his.

Also looking forward to the new Nelson DeMille. One of my favorite authors.

Mitch is already in a heap of trouble ... has rattled some big cages ... had to put it down or I'd be reading all night ...

Have to say this, though ... Flynn's editors are letting him get away with some pretty sloppy sentence structure and there are some flow issues, if you know what I mean.

He gets out of bed. Puts on comfortable clothes. Checks on his children (4 of them) ... THEN grabs his go-bag and leaves a note by the coffee pot.

Wouldn't he get out of bed ... put on clothes ... check children ... leave a note ... grab go-bag (always packed) from the hall closet?

Nit-picking continuity things ... and several typos ... IT instead of IF ... and PICK instead of p**** ...

And he loves, loves, loves the word "that" .... puts it everywhere, necessary or not.

Oh, well. It's a good story, so far. :D

Typos in a book of that caliber are unforgiveable..... :-?

For a good story, I can forgive an abundance of "that".... or at least tolerate it..... But shame on his editors.....

And yes, I would expect grabbing the go-bag to be last in that series of events....

Wait a second.... Mitch Rapp has FOUR KIDS????? :o :o :o

<<---- knows better than to start a Vince Flynn novel after lunch.... it means a sleepless night..... :P 8)

Organizational Theory, A Public and Nonprofit Perspective. Not a bad read for a text book, but I also have Razors Edge by Rob Ray waiting for when I am done with this class.
