Where does JB rank on your all-time favorite artists list?

Post by bestseller92 »

Many of you will no doubt rank Jimmy #1 on your list of all time favorite musical artists.

I can't quite place him that high, but he's still in rarified air. AND, he IS the #1 LIVING artist on my list :).

Here's my current (the list is somewhat fluid, especially near the bottom) top ten:

1. Elvis
1a. Waylon
3. John Denver
3a. JIMMY BUFFETT
5. Dwight Yoakam
6. AC/DC
7. B.B. King
8. Frank Sinatra
9. Roy Orbison
10. Flatt and Scruggs

Bubbling just outside my top ten are the Stones, John Lee Hooker, Gordon Lightfoot, Merle Haggard, Alison Krauss, Crystal Gayle, Tracy Chapman, Andres Segovia and Dean Martin.

Where does Jimmy rank on your top ten list?

Frank Sinatra, Perry Cuomo, Barry Manilow, the Beatles, Dan Fogelberg, Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel, Jimmy Buffett, they all have something in common to me.

I heard Frank Sinatra say that George Jones was the best vocalist of all times. I have to say he is up there!

Sam Cooke! Fats Domino! They're all just about equal to me. Harry Belafonte is way up there. Bob Marley.

Not much of a list that I have.

The number one position changes like the tide depending on my mood, but the short list is made up mostly of singer/songwriters and includes (in alphabetical order):

Alabama
Jimmy Buffett
John Denver
Hugo Duarte
Dan Fogelburg
Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole
Mac McAnally
Frank Sinatra
George Strait
James Taylor

For music on a larger scale, I love John Williams' work.

Hmm.. music I listen to?
Jimmy..

Music I have seen live??
there are some artists I can only hope Jimmy stays on the
road long enough to match the shear numbers
(this includes concerts, dances and Festivals)

Chris Ledoux? lets say.. more than 50.. probably closer to 75..
Tower of Power? Oh.. over 100 probably closer to 150.
Night Ranger.. ?in the 50 block..
Heart?? well over 40.. probably closer to 75..

there are a couple of others that I am forgetting..
but my plate does read OFF2CJB.

With out a doubt the highest energy, most exciting show I've ever seen. I only go to see him one time but it was awesome. At a big country music festival(when it was still good) in about 2001. We took a K-State wildcat toy up to the stage and he held it up the crowd went crazy.
