Buffett in Vegas May 16, 2009

I just got a locals email from MGM in Vegas and it lists a show on May 16th.... he was just here in October so I found this to be quite interesting.

When will you know about tickets? Hopefully I can attend. Does the MGM ever sell advance tickets prior to ticketmaster...that you know of? This is fantastic news...how reliable? I live in Alabama and been looking for an excuse to get to Vegas.

I've yet to see or hear anything on it myself (other than the original post in this thread). It would appear odd as nothing else has been announced (or rumored) for west coast dates this spring. However, Vegas is hurting so bad that MGM may just open up the coffers to get Jimmy out for an "odd date" as they know that parrotheads will fill rooms and the casino floor.

I for one am hoping that the OP is incorrect. I would rather keep up the Vegas in October recent tradition. Unless the plan is for both, then I would have no problems making it out there twice.

I think the fall dates will definitely happen, although some have speculated that these dates may be moved up to September. If the OP's information is correct, I think the May date would be in addition to the fall shows (something which was done probably 6 or 7 years ago)

I actually just checked the data base....it was 2000 and 2003 that Jimmy showed up in Vegas both spring and fall.

I was there in 03 for "The Salty Piece of Land Tour" in April. I remember it well. Tickets sold on Feb 12th and gave a set to my lovely parrotthead bride for Valentines.
Would love to make two trips this year.

If you do go for the May show, I'd definitely suggest staying at the Flamingo if you can get a good rate. It's just uberconvenient with M'ville right there.

Lock it in. JB in LV in spring is sooo much better then in the fall. After a long cold Winter, nothing defrosts better. Plus Jimmy is still fresh and fired up. See you all there..
