The $17k is being distributed as follows;
National Breast Cancer Foundation - $5,000
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - $5,000
PTM for Operating Expenses - $2,500
Scottish Rite Hospital for Children - $1,700
Why Me Foundation for Childrens Cancer - $500
Dallas SCORES Foundation - $500
Guilford County Animal Shelter - $500
FC Dallas Foundation - $500
NJ Ag Society / Farmers Against Hunger - $500
Charity: Water - $300
Total - $17,000

All of the $500 donations have already been paid online or mailed.

I will schedule visits with the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the Scottish Rite Hospital to make those donations in person.

For Leukemia and Lymphoma, Mrs. Play is signing up for the TNT event coming up in Maui in September. I will make that donation online once her registration is complete. It's going to a good cause and it rewards her for putting up with my tailgate planning craziness for the last 5 years.

In addition, we donated leftover buns and other perishables to the Salvation Army.
Some of the leftover burgers and hot dogs will be donated to my kids' scouting troop for their upcoming year-end cookout celebration.

Thank you all for your help and support in making these Parties That Matter! [smilie=superkewl.gif]

A few weeks ago, our 9 year old started complaining of sharp chest pains. We took him to the pediatrician and everything checked out ok, but he referred us to a cardiologist just to be safe. The cardiologist said his heart was fine but he noticed a curve in the spine from the chest x-rays, and he sent us back to the pediatrician for better views of the back.

Just today, they called with the results. Turns out he has a 15 degree curve in his spine, and they're taking it pretty seriously. Guess where he's being referred...

I totally agree with the list of charities that are benefitting from our party.

And I thought you did a great job of organizing ... :D

Hopefully next year I will be in a better financial state to contribute.

Thanks again Bill!

Frognot took first place in the chili cookoff, and he opted to donate the winnings back to the causes.
Congratulations, and Thank you Charles! [smilie=superkewl.gif]

She's beautiful, PHritz! And OMG, I am so diggin' your beer keg groom's cake. I will be showing that to Mike. His sister in law, who used to have a bakery, is doing our cakes. They were going for a steel guitar, but that's kinda tricky. May have them steal that idea! Congratulations on you phamily and your happiness! :D

Bill, my son, Kyle, who is almost 23 was diagnosed with Scoliosis when he was about 10. We were referred to Scotish Rite also. You are in very good hands and I'm telling ya, you will be amazed at the work they do! You & your family will be in my thoughts and prayers as your appointment nears.
