I'm so glad he's okay but I believe that Kenny Chesney is somehow behind this

Yes, he's been seen with Tanya Harding!! :o

There is still so much work for Jimmy to do here on this earth, and I am so relieved that he is okay. What a decent ending to an otherwise rotten day.

Well said. Couldn't agree more!!

Did you see the video?

Thank you Charleston!
OK, just watched the video but I'm not seeing Charleston....
After watching the video several times I actually think I saw Charleston down in the pit maybe half catching JB. Or at least reaching toward him and trying to catch him.

One of the news articles mentioned "a large man seen arguing with security" any guesses as to who that was? :D

SJBSydney wrote:I agree, Mr Chugg (promotor) did a poor job on informing the crowd of the situation. He just kept saying "please leave, please leave" and talking to individuals at the front over the microphone - very unprofessional.
I agree. I used to do concert promotion and that's the very opposite of what you want to do.

It would have been better if he had asked the crowd to remain calm and in their seats, let the emergency personel do their job, and then asked one of the band members to come out and reassure the crowd and thank them for their understanding.

"Everybody get out now" only makes the situation worse and worries everybody.

Sorry for Jimmy, hope he feels better. Sorry for the fans, since he so rarely gets to go there.

At 64 he will be hurting this morning but various news sources reporting cat scans are all ok. Falling offstage is pretty common work place hazard for performers. I would just feel MUCH better if he would make a statement. :( :( :(

couldn't you put a small strip of something that your foot could feel about 2 feet back from the stage or hire a roady to set on the edge?

The W.T.F. tour indeed! Jimmy, about this "faking your death" thing, you're doing it wrong. Unless of course you planned to kill Buffettnews, in which case; Great Job!! [smilie=gt-happyup.gif]

Seriously thought, he was very, very lucky, and I'm very glad he's ok. People seemed to be complaining on TMZ that the pit between the crowd and stage was too large, but part of me wonders how much worse it would have been if those metal barriers were closer. :(

On the other side of that coin, if fans were allowed right up to the stage, he would have fallen into the caring (drunk?) hands of his fans and just crowd-surfed to safety! 8)

The tour will now be known as the "Weathered The Fall" tour.

(Or renamed the "Put Pillows In The Pit" tour...)

On the Today Show a few minutes ago, Matt Lauer said he had received a message from Jimmy saying there was no concussion, that he had lots of stiches in his head and his elbow and that he was sore as (Matt wouldn't say) but that he would be fine.

Oh Jimmy will be sore as hell for a while, but I am so glad that he is on the mend. I am very sorry for the canceled show and for the fans who were planning to attend, but I am more relieved that Jimmy is taking the time to recover from these injuries.
