Re: Who's Going to Pittsburgh June 28, 2012?

Remember "38 Special" ???
an American rock band that was formed by neighborhood friends Don Barnes and Donnie Van Zant in 1974 in Jacksonville, Florida.[1] The band's first two albums had a strong southern rock influence. By the early 1980s, 38 Special shifted to a more accessible arena rock style without abandoning its southern rock roots. This shift helped to usher in a string of successful albums and singles.
Their breakthrough hit was "Hold On Loosely" (1981). "Caught Up in You" (1982) and "If I'd Been the One" (1983) both hit #1 on Billboard magazine's Album Rock Tracks chart. "Back Where You Belong" (1984) continued the annual sequence of radio favorites, and "Second Chance" (1989) was a #1 hit on Billboard's adult contemporary chart.
In 2007, 38 Special was the opening act on Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams Jr.'s Rowdy Frynds Tour, and on September 27, 2008, they filmed a CMT Crossroads special with country singer Trace Adkins, performing both artists' hits from over the years. In 2009, 38 Special opened for REO Speedwagon and Styx as part of the "Can't Stop Rockin' Tour."
As of 2011, the lineup consists of Don Barnes, Donnie Van Zant, guitarist Danny Chauncey, bassist Larry Junstrom, keyboardist Bobby Capps and drummer Gary Moffatt.

Hey all, needs some help and advice.........
Wife and I are torn about the possibility of bring our 10 year old daughter with us to Doubletree, then busing to the show. Is it appropriate?
You need to know, she does "Fins" every time she hears the song, carries herself much older than her age, could list 20 Buffet songs off the top of her head without hesitation..... favorite songs are Pencil thin mustache, Migration, and one particular harbor............so not the "pop" tunes. Beach bum and no pop music here. Begged me to call her and hold up phone at Jimmy's Blossom show in Cleveland last year...........
Opinions welcome. Good kid, more adult than kid, not sure how that happened, but......it is a Buffet show, and while the crowd is great, it will be drunk.............
Honest thoughts, no jokes appreciated. For some reason we are really struggling with what to do, and trust fellow Parrotheads to offer advice.
I post this here, because if you are going to show, and at Doubletree, you WILL met her............she would be the one with the face paint, banner, and dressed for the occasion, hanging with with two much older Parrots.........
Thank you!

Re: Who's Going to Pittsburgh June 28, 2012?
I have often thought about this too since I have kids the similar age. My thoughts are that it depends on how drunk you guys as parents get. I would feel awkward bringing my kids to a Buffett show but that's cuz we tailgate early and get pretty crazy. But if you just bring her, have a few beverages and watch the other people be stupid then I think that's ok. People at Buffett shows are a bunch of the friendliest drunks in the world!!!Bern wrote:Hey all, needs some help and advice.........

Salt air it ain't thin,
It can stick right to your skin,
And make you feel fine.
It makes you feel fine.
It can stick right to your skin,
And make you feel fine.
