Buffett Madness- Rules & Info *bracket 1st post (4/7)

In honor of the NCAA basketball tournaments that are now upon us, I thought it would be kinda cool to do the same thing with Buffett songs. So here’s how it’s going to work: for the next few weeks starting Tuesday, there are going to be 2 “games” daily featuring two Buffett songs going head to head. You the Parrothead vote for whichever song you like better. The song that has the most votes advances to the next round. Each “game” will have it’s own thread, where you can debate each song’s merits, and each “game” will last for 48 hours before the poll closes.

How did I choose the songs? Using the BN Song Database’s “Songs Played Live the Most.” Unfortunately, there is no way to choose THE top 65 songs. Although it’s not complete, the SPLTM list is the most objective.
Song #1 (Margaritaville) will play the winner of 64, 2 plays 63, 3 plays 62, etc. Before this begins however, please choose your favorite song listed above. Songs #63-69 on the SPLTM list are all tied as JB have played them 40 times each (approx). The poll will be open for 48 hours and the top 2 songs will get the last two spots in the tournament. Consider it the play-in games. Enjoy!!!

Banana Republics a 13 seed???

I'm spending way too much time on this already...

It's all based off of the BN Song Database. The reason that Banana Republics is so low is because there are about 50 or so songs that Jimmy has played more often according to the Database. Using the database is the only objective way to rank the songs. Who's to say your rankings or my rankings are the best rankings. I'm seeing many upsets. As it is there is already talk of bringing down #1 seeds which I think is the cool part about this. No one is safe.
