To paraphrase Bugs Bunny: "They don't know us very well, do they?"

Too funny - thanx Ryan! :D
We should all email them next Monday: "Apparently you found a reason?"

Woo-hoo!! It's really a party now! :D

Note to self, buy more booze...
A most mysterious calling harbour
So far, but yet, so near
Where I see the day
When my hair's full gray
and I finally...disappear. BUT NOT YET!!

*I got a very "confident" reply as to what time the lots will open* (I asked if it is possible to open them up at 11:30 or noon)

Ryan,
We thank you for your feedback, and our staff at the post gazette hopes everyone will have an enjoyable time on Saturday. Unfortunately, we feel that we have absolutely no reason to open up the parking lots seven and a half hours before the start of the show. Our parking lots will open up at approximatley 4:00 P.M. WE ALSO DO NOT ALLOW OVERNIGHT PARKING IN OUR LOTS!!!

To answer your second question no cameras will be allowed into the venue, and no class bottles of any kind will be allowed into the parking lots.

Please also note that traffic will be extremely heavy for this show, so expect delays coming into, and exiting the venue.
_____________________________________________________________
I bet those lots will be opened by 12:30 or 1:00 at the latest
I won't be there at 1:00, but I know I'll be in there well before 4:00. :pirate:

...and I don't have "no class" bottles. I drink the good stuff.
They won't have a choice but to open them once traffic starts backing down Route 18 and onto Route 22, the cops will probably make them open the lots

Listen folks I have been to Star Lake/Post Gazette Pavillion for every Buffett show since it has opened. The nice folks there every year pre-warn fans about bottles and the lots opening at 4pm. This is to deter people from arriving way to early(which never happens) and the problem that can occur with glass. Once traffic begins to back up the police will force them to open the gates. The bottle thing has never been enforced on those who are of age whether they are beer or your drink of choice and I roam the lots avidly while tailgating. When Jimy comes to town the rule book is tossed out except for fights and weapons. Things like(I hope I don't offend anyone) public urination, exposure of private parts, heavy drinking, illegal smoking paraphanalia, nudity and the like are ignored at Buffett shows. As long as one is smart about thing and knows when to use caution they will have no problems. I have found this out about several other facilities Jimmy plays as well. I am just hoping it does not rain and is not extremely hot on Saturday because it can be very, very miserable there if either of these occur. If anyone has any other questions about Saturday let me know and I will check back daily to help yinz awt. Have a great show!

Catman,
Thanks for the tips. Sounds like Key West in western PA. They CERTAINLY weren't that way when he played at Blossom (which may be one of the reasons he doesn't come here anymore). My husband was with the local sheriff's department in years past and that STILL didn't cut us any slack in tailgating. We're really looking forward to our party in the parking lot this year.

NOTHING was as hot as PNC Park - the black top parking lots, fried and melted things.

I have a friend that runs the parking (I get no privelages (sp) especially on Buffet day) They HATE when the buffett fans come in.....

Sand - pools - saunas - hot tubs - small bars - and 80% buses...and the fact that they have to open early....

HEY here is a thought.....why doesn't someone call Star Lake on Friday as a parking attendent for the show and ask what time to show up...

Cindabee,

Don't mean any disrespect but Blossom is bad to see any show there. That may be one of the worst venues in the country. I would love to see Jimmy go back to Buckeye Lake in Hebron Ohio but at this stage in his career that may never happen.

What is your friends name? I'll call and ask and say this is blah, blah blah, when should I be there Saturday? It can work with one promise that you'll tell me where your parking lot party will be!

I will be where the TIKI GOD balloon flies high.

Early on we said that BN'ers should get TIKI god ballons and fly them high, let me find my post on that....

Looks like my car will not be there - possible a red blazer instead...

where is that cell list?

I have a call into a friend about parking, hopefully I will hear something tomorrow....

*shhh* Just between us, k?

A friend called this afternoon and said she heard 'on the radio' that if you don't have a ticket, you won't be allowed into any of the parking areas. This rumor goes around every year but once again I'm wondering if it could happen.
It'd be ridiculous...if not impossible...to make someone turn around in that traffic mess and leave. What if you were meeting friends who had your ticket? I can't see how something like that could be enforced without all hell breaking lose. Does anyone have info on this?
We were hoping to nab tickets when we get there and figured the worst that could happen is that we'd have to continue drinking and partying in the lot.

Here are a few Tiki god balloons. I'm hoping to get the last one...though there are ones that are round too.

Catman, you're absolutely right and NO ONE I KNOW goes to Blossom anymore--especially since House of Blues bought it. The concerts s*** and the place is so expensive even us old folks don't want to pay the prices. No disrespect taken. The only place worse than Blossom was Polaris (it's renamed now). Buckeye Lake was very cool.

As far as TIKI BALLOONS go, I did order mine, BUT I haven't heard that they've shipped, so I'm kind of figuring I'll be anonymous in the parking lot, but I'll look up as many of you as I can.
